Eaton’s Industrial AER FED Electrical Distribution Division is currently seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer – Transitions to join our team. This position can located in the Midwest States near an airport. (you will be working out of an Eaton facility)
The Lead Manufacturing Engineer successfully facilitates the Transfer of Manufacturing Technology, Processes and Tools from Incumbent Manufacturing Sites (IMS) to Target Manufacturing Sites (TMS), Ensuring that ongoing production processes are robust and sustainable in order to meet Quality and Delivery Requirements according to Eaton’s Internal Requirements and those of AS9100, AIAG APQP, and Customer flow down.

  • You will support Transition programs (STP) as well as new product launches (NPD) for FED division on the manufacturing area leading the key factors for achieving on time program launches, by leading manufacturing activities such as process development, tooling, fixturing and equipment selection, Aerospace quality standards (AS9100) as well as Eaton internal requirements. 
  • You will provide technical facilitation for IMS/TMS Transitions. 
  • You will do feasibility Reviews of manufacturing capacity and capability of target sites and
    technical assessment of existing manufacturing tools and processes for part manufacturability at sending and receiving sites, prior to moving parts. 
  • You will support target site in the development of robust processes and manufacturing process specifications required for quality assurance. 
  • You will do training and development of personnel at new manufacturing locations. 
    You will be responsible for on time support program gates and deliverables led by project managers. 
  • You will lead design for manufacturing activities with the Product engineer leader. 
  • You will support costing of potential programs by drafting processes, estimating capital investment as well as labor content of the product. 
  • You will need to travel 40% to Mexico for 1 week, International for 1-2 weeks and sometimes you just travel for 1 week out of the month. Flex travel.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Relocation is NOT approved. 
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), have been granted Political Asylum, or Refugee.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or other similar engineering fields.
  • Master of Science preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing launches
  • Strong understanding and working experience with GD&T 
    Strong knowledge of Quality systems, methods and practices; QS 9000, AS9100, APQP, FMEA,
  • Control Plan, PPAP, NADCAP and MSA 
    Experience on metal forming, tube bending, welding processes, heat treatment and
  • part process inspection. 
    Knowledge on hoses assembly process and titanium chemical process a plus 
    Exposure of multicultural environment and program launches outside USA 
    Exposure to Aerospace standards and specifications (NADCAP Welding & Finishing) 
    Excellent Communication Skills
