You will work within our Local and regional engineering team at our Titchfield sites and you will engage with various team members across manufacturing and engineering.


Engineering Manager – Aerospace Simulation



Your key deliverables:


Engineering leadership position responsible for leading a team of engineering analysts specifically focused on products and systems aligned with all Aerospace-FED locations including Beltsville, MD; Jackson, MI; East Providence, RI; Toccoa, GA;  Bethel, CT; Glenolden, PA; Lakeside, U.K.; Serres Castet, France; Coignieres, France and Gilching, Germany.


The position will provide leadership and guidance to a global analysis team primarily responsible for the performance of engineering analysis of Aerospace FED product and systems for all global sites.  Analysis support includes but is not limited to:


  • Structural Mechanics
  • Structural Dynamics/Vibration
  • Thermal Analysis
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Simulations
  • System Structural Analyses
  • Systems Performance Simulations
  • Electromagnetic Simulation


·       Lead global strategy development around processes and tools specific to the development of digital prototyping capability.  Global strategy includes fostering a culture with the various FED engineering teams with an emphasis on driving an analysis-first mindset across the businesses.


·       Develop common methodologies and perform simulation, modeling and analysis, services and best practices across Aerospace FED programs as it relates to the above noted analyses/technologies to drive year-on-year productivity and efficiency gains specific to analysis execution.


·       Plan and control the global Aerospace FED analysis team workload and tasks to ensure that project milestones are delivered to the plan and cost and ensure that resource levels are compatible with profit plan.


·       Coordinate the activities of multiple customers and multiple suppliers in a complex international environment.


·       Act as the technical interface between Eaton’s external customers and analysis contractors as required.


·       Develop world class organizational capability, development processes and tools with a focus on driving continuous productivity improvements and efficiency gains.

·       Collaborate with Aerospace internal customers to establish and grow an analysis-first mindset across the business.

·       Participate in strategic planning for the Industrial Sector’s Modeling, Simulation & NVH Center of Excellence (MSNVH COE).

·       Lead profit planning efforts across the Aerospace FED team throughout the follow on period of performance and deliver profit plan forecast and other financial expectations.

·       Control and manage team budget

·       Direct technical proposals for in-house and external customer.

·       Manage organization of global engineering team analysis.

·       Develop and qualify strategic partners and resources.

·       Drive predictable performance.

·       Provide senior technical oversight to team as required.

·       Contribute to the development of the technology roadmap.

·       The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, writing and oral presentation skills.  The ability to effectively present results and recommendations to senior-level Industrial Sector leadership is likely.

  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical)
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Modeling & Simulation.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focus.
  • Ability to effectively present results and recommendations to senior-level Aerospace and customer management is important.
