Senior Product Engineer_LD
Eaton located in Shanghai, China has an opening for a Senior Product Engineer.
The purpose of this position is to work on current product engineering activities for light, medium and heavy duty transmissions, analyzing customers’ requirements and developing a product to meet such requirements hat presents a performance that meets customer expectation.
Essential functions of the role include:
A Develop concepts and design new components for current in production transmissions to meet customers (OEM) requirements for new applications.
B Make use of development tools such as DFMEA, SSFD, DFM/DFA and Simultaneous Engineering in order to meet organizational target of a flawless launch.
C Coordinate and participate of the development of Validation Plan for new components developed to attend new application.
D Support LD JV maintain BOM at Oracle to release for all other departments of the organization reliable information to assure the correct product to be delivered to customer.
E Support LD JV Manufacturing, Quality and SCM analyzing deviations requested by such departments and negotiate with the engineering centers or customers responsible for such products.
F Support LD JV Prepare and release Add/Omit report to support quotation to attend customer request.
G Contact the engineering centers or LD JV responsible for the development of the transmissions produced in Eaton SA to discuss engineering changes received from them or requested by us and also to discuss necessary design changes or improvements to solve field issues.
H Analyze customer technical requirements and standards and adequately address eventual necessary changes internally in LD JV (Manufacturing, SCM, Quality, etc.) or to the engineering center responsible for the respective transmission platform.
I To coordinate competitors’ products benchmarking, reporting results, extracting from the study opportunities for improving the performance of the Eaton products, as well as, looking for opportunities of cost-out;
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical Engineering
• Six Sigma for Design Certified is preferred
• 3-5 years of experience on product development activities;
• Advanced English language skill;
• 3D/2D model/drawing in ProEngineer or similar CAD system knowledge;
• Knowledge on new product development process and tools (DFMEA, Simultaneous Engineering, DFM/DFA, etc.)
• Interpersonal communication skills and professional presence;
• Knowledge on designing new components for current product and new applications.
Preferred/Additional Specialized Knowledge:
• Rich experience of transmission for failure analysis and troubleshooting.
• DFMEA, GD&T, AutoCAD, PPAP, APQP and good practice of project management
•Basic knowledge of vehicle driveline system, including clutch, transmission, driveshaft and axle.
•Specialty knowledge and experience of metal material, machining process, heat treatment, and surface treatment.
•Special knowledge of gears, shafts, spline, bearings and special software or spreadsheet for these kinds of components calculation and analysis.
