The Americas Operations manager is a member of the Filtration North America leadership team reporting to the Division Operations Excellence Director. Primary responsibilities are.
- To manage, direct and coordinate all facility activity for the Reynosa Filtration manufacturing site and Williamsport Industrial Plastics manufacturing site.
- Develop and deploy the Quality strategy for the Filtration Division supporting the implementation of global Hydraulics and Industrial Sector Quality programs and goals.
 
Eaton's Filtration Division is a global $250M business with operations in Europe, North and South America and Asia Pacific. The division has aggressive growth initiatives which it expects to achieve organically and through acquisition.
 
Following duties apply to Reynosa and Williamsport manufacturing sites:
  • Must work consistently to maintain safe and healthy working conditions, to adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injury and illness and to observe all governmental, regional and company safety and health regulations.
  • Communicate and provide leadership to ensure achievement of plant objectives for both sites: 1. Tactical operational plans e.g. Profit plan goals, 2. Strategic plans in alignment with divisional and group operational strategies.
  • Build organizational capability through empowering functional areas while providing overall direction and accountability in accordance with the Eaton values and philosophies.
  •  Provide guidance to the Reynosa and Williamsport leadership teams in all functional areas and deployment of the Capital Plan, annual Profit Plan, as well as the Strategic Plan in alignment with the overall divisional group level plan.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing manufacturing strategy in alignment with the strategic and tactical plans of the Filtration - Hydraulics Division.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Operational Excellence functional area to ensure customer expectations are met while driving deployment of the Eaton Business System
  • Adhere to and comply with all ISO 14001/EHS (MESH) and ISO 9001:2015 (EQS) standards, procedures, and guidelines.
Following duties apply to Division Quality Position
  •  Lead the development and deployment of the Quality strategy for the Filtration Division ensuring alignment with Global Hydraulics Group.
  • Ensure the Filtration Division plants comply with applicable Eaton, customer, and industry-specific Quality requirements by conducting the necessary audits and assessments to determine system effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement a Quality organizational structure capable of supporting the strategic initiatives and lead the efforts to integrate quality into the development of short and long range business plans.
  • Analyze key quality-related operational metrics related to both the Eaton Balanced Scorecard and customer systems and perform periodical reviews to evaluate results and establish action plans to close the gaps at an operational level.
  • Lead the sharing of best / transferable practices across the Division for the Quality function.
  • Continually improve the capability of the Quality organization through ongoing development activities and identification of talent to promote functional bench strength.  Ensure deployment of Eaton’s quality functional excellence tool set and provides input to development plans for functional reports. 
  • Champion the Eaton Quality System (EQS) within the Division. Responsible for overseeing utilization of EQS to control and improve key divisional quality processes and plants.
  • Support the Operations Assessment (OpA) process as a Lead Assessor for Quality and represent the Quality Function in the OpA Leadership Review (OpA-LR) process for the Filtration Division and identifying common themes and actions. Achieve OpA demonstrating performance for Quality function across the division.
  • Lead quarterly Quality functional reviews with specific focus on EQS self-assessment effectiveness and maturity, corrective and preventive actions, timely closure of actions, and other items as required.

Qualifications

 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Management or a related business field. (Preferred Technical degree)
  • A minimum of ten years of experience as a manager of quality, production, lean in a plant or prior experience as a plant manager
  • Demonstrated knowledge and plant manufacturing operations and business leadership
  • Experience in managing multiple site responsibilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance and continuous improvement methods, approaches and tools, including strategic management and project management.
  • In-depth experience with the practical application of Quality tools and Lean Manufacturing methodologies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as ISO-9001 or TS-16949
  • Knowledge and experience with the deployment of Eaton’s EQS process is preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Strong mechanical aptitude (including welding experience) is preferred
