Eaton’s Electrical Distribution Division is currently seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Peachtree, GA location.

Position overview:

This position is responsible with working on any materials/supply issues on daily issues.  Plant support. Supporting NPD, supporting internal customers. Balancing Suppliers in Mexico vs other LCCs.  Creating value in projects, cost out, working with suppliers with TCO mindset.  Payment terms, warranty, quality issues, etc.


·       Overall responsibility for the development and execution of the Cooper Lighting Supply Base for specific to Lighting Optics, Plastic Injection Molded and Extruded parts, Aluminum Die Castings, and Aluminum Extrusions.

        Drive material cost productivity for all components and related systems within the assigned components or purchased finished goods.  Specific material cost productivity targets will be assigned each year and adjusted as commodity prices fluctuate. 

        Establishment of operational policies and implementation of both long and short-term plans to achieve divisional objectives for procurement of raw materials and finished goods to support delivery performance at 95% or greater.  These objectives include the balanced optimization of Revenue, Delivery, Cost and Working Capital (Inventory). 

        Develop the Global Sourcing Strategy within assigned components or purchased finished goods to include supplier selection, supplier qualification and ongoing management of the AVL (Approved Vendor List).

        Maintain relationships with key suppliers including measuring supplier’s performance and driving improvement plans (PPV, quality, delivery, cost, etc).

        Work with sales, marketing and NPD operations to improve forecasting communication to our supply base through a robust PSI/S&OP planning cycle.  Develop sound supply chain contingencies to enable rapid reaction to forecast deficiencies while still balancing overall business objectives.

        Ensure sufficient capacity exists, production and supply, to meet short and long term volume requirements.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

        Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution

        Five years of experience in ma BS or BA from an accredited institution. 

        A minimum of 2 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing or Purchasing.

        Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

       No relocation is offered for this position. Only candidates located within 50 miles of Peachtree, GA will be considered for this position.


Preferred Qualifications: (Not required to be qualified for the role)

  • MBA or Masters
  • 3 Plus Years’ Experience in Sourcing
  • Experience with mechanical components
  • Direct experience with SAP Procurement and Material Management Functions
  • Proven track record of successful implementation of annual cost savings through negotiation, supplier VAVE and effective supplier development/resourcing efforts
  • Negotiation experience with training in TCO (Total Cost Ownership)
  • 3 Plus Years’ Experience in Sourcing; Experience in Mexico and other LCCs
  • Direct experience with procurement of electronic components and electronic goods (power supplies and/or battery assemblies).
  • Proven track record of successful implementation of annual cost savings through negotiation, supplier VAVE and effective supplier development/resourcing efforts
  • Advanced experience with SAP Procurement, Material Management Functions, and BW
  • Lighting, automotive, or appliance industry experience a plus
  • Prior experience with new product development and/or working in a new product cross-functional team.
