Job Description

Eaton’s Aerospace division is seeking a Senior Facilities technician to join our team. The position is based at our Los Angeles, CA facility.
The LA facility has approximately 350 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets. The Senior Facilities technician will be responsible repairing, installing, adjusting, or maintaining industrial production and processing machinery and pipeline distribution system with little or no supervision.

  • You will have the ability to repair high pressure hydraulics systems
  • You will perform basic CNC repair
  • You will perform basic Electric work- 120 volts

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair.
  • Relocation is not offered for this role. Candidates must reside within a 50 mile distance of the Los Angeles, CA facility (zip code 90039) to be considered.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
    Position Criteria:
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Electrical construction and maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of procedures for installing all sizes of electrical conduit, cables, wires, switches, automatic stating equipment, and pole line construction, etc.  Standard practices, materials, and tools of the electrical trade.
  • Knowledge of municipal electrical code applicable to installation, maintenance, and repair work.
  • Experience working with machine shop equipment including CNC machines.
  • Must adhere to and support Eaton’s Environmental, Health and Safety policies.
  • Must be able to work under minimum supervision, and be self-motivated.
  • Candidate will not disrupt other employees during normal working hours.
  • Hands-on experience with repair and maintenance of production machinery.
  • Must be able to PM's and shutdowns on machinery.
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in both hot and cold weather.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Be able to verify efficiency of abilities as well as industry, type and model of equipment knowledge.
  • Ability to read and write English proficiently.
    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with the engineering of power distribution systems from 600V on down, motor control, VFD’s, lighting, grounding, and lightning protection.
  • Experience in performing power system analysis, short circuit and load flow studies. Familiarity with process control systems and emergency power systems is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of 480 volt 3 phase motor control electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of municipal electrical code applicable to installation, maintenance, and repair work.
  • Experience working with machine shop equipment including CNC machines.
  • Trade or technical school certificate or equivalent preferred.
