Eaton’s Fluid and Electrical Distribution Division of Eaton’s Aerospace Group is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Bethel, Connecticut facility.
 
The Continuous Improvement Manager is a member of the Plant Leadership Team with responsibility for the Continuous Improvement function in the Eaton Aerospace Bethel, CT Plant. The CI Manager will plan, coordinate, and support all Continuous Improvement activities. This position guides the plant’s efforts to improve processes and reduce costs using lean tools and six sigma methodology.

  • You will support a culture of inclusion and accountability by leveraging employees at all levels of the organization in the development and troubleshooting of quality manufacturing processes.
  • You will develop the Bethel plant’s long term strategic plan for Continuous Improvement.  Set short and long term goals to achieve strategic plan.
  • You will utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools to eliminate waste, driving customer satisfaction, cost reduction, and improved working capital performance.
  • You will guide production and functional teams in the monitoring and improvement of processes to ensure the highest quality product by utilizing Eaton and industry best practices.
  • You will facilitate improvement activities including training, mentoring, facilitating Kaizen events, Six Sigma projects, tool deployment, benchmarking, etc.
  • You will provide Lean and Six Sigma support across the organization to drive short-term and long term business improvements.
  • You will support various internal and external assessments. Work across functions to prioritize improvement activities and close identified gaps.
  • You will influence others in a dynamic working environment with full focus upon continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum 3 years of Manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience utilizing Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.  ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ''Green Card Holder''), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area (50 miles) of the Bethel, CT facility will be considered for this position.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of Manufacturing experience utilizing Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification.

 

Position Success Criteria:

  • Thorough working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, continuous improvement, SPC, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience in the deployment of 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Maps, Visual Management, and TPM.
  • Exposure to Materials Management, Operations, and Customer Service processes.
  • Prior experience in implementing lean production methodology in low volume/high mix type product environment.
  • Effective communication skills including technical writing and presentation.
  • Experience managing several projects simultaneously.
  • Proven capability to lead change in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Power Point, Visio.
