CNC Machine Operator – 3rd Shift (Evening Shift)
The purpose of this position is to produce parts that meet or exceed our customer standards while working safely and improving the work environment. This position will be responsible for setting up and operating various CNC machines within the Enclosures Department, while also checking features to produce transmission components of high quality, following process sheet and process drawing guidelines.
A. All employees are expected be actively engaged, and comply with all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to, environment, health, safety, and hygiene requirements / guidelines.
B. May lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and push or pull up to 100 lbs.; constant standing, bending and occasional walking.
C. Maintain a clean, orderly and safe workplace, perform daily 5S+ activities, as well as other pre-startup procedures (e.g., hoist inspection, machine guarding, total productive maintenance).
D. Responsible for following the control plan and standard work of the position
E. Minimize scrap/rework by utilizing lean and quality tools available to employees, along with problem solving tools provided in training
F. Read and interpret part drawings, process sheets, gauges; and work to manufacturing information, drawings, sketches, written or oral instructions from supervision and to established procedures.
G. Responsible for Maxim/Cincron fixture set up, machine operation, machine control, machine adjustment, and machine maintenance.
H. Responsible for set-up verification, reading CMM sheets and making appropriate adjustments, product identification, and performing quality checks
I. Operate designated CNC machine to produce Enclosure department products (Rear Plate Housings, Shift Bar Housings, and/or Case Housings)
J. Responsible for hitting daily production targets to meet customer demand
K. Engage in plant-wide initiatives (e.g., various committees, community involvement, etc.)
L. Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives, including but not limited to the Eaton Shenandoah Visions Program, STOP Program, and Kaizen events.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
• Relocation is not offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate Shenandoah, IA area (50 miles) will be considered for this position (with exception of internal candidates currently assigned to the Shenandoah, IA site)
• Minimum six (6) months CNC machining experience
• Experience reading and interpreting variable and attribute gauges, prints, safety, maintenance and operation instructions; and quality specifications.
• Minimum of six (6) months of manufacturing experience.
