Job Description

Reporting to the Regional HR Manager ANZ, this role is responsible for delivering the full range of Human Resources programs and services to leaders, people managers and employees within the ANZ Electrical Division (ANZD), focusing on :
  • Translating APAC and ANZD HR strategies into specific local initiatives, implementing and providing ongoing management of these given annual and longer term strategic plans and key objectives of the ANZ Electrical business
  • Providing business partnering solution provider advice, guidance and counseling to ANZD people managers and employees   
  • Managing the day to day HR operational requirements and metrics management/reporting for ANZD
  • Driving HR operational excellence, including overseeing Talent Acquisition and providing support to HR Shared Services team as required.
    • Understand the ANZD business and HR strategy and support the team by implementing HR programs and initiatives that provide for growth and continuous improvement acrross all divisions of ANZD. This includes assisting the HRM in
    • driving cultural change to align the organization with the strategy
    • diagnosing gaps between current and desired state and deploying actions to resolve the gap.
    • Provide exceptional customer service and operational excellence to our internal clients across the ANZ business by partnering with business leaders, managers and the HRM to implement strategies focused on key employee end-to-end lifecycle deliverables including
      • Recruiting and onboarding,
      • cultural development and employee engagement,
      • change management and organisational design,
      • succession planning and talent management/development,
      • promotions and transfers,
      • remuneration and benefits management,
      • employee termination,
      • ER issue resolution and
      • diversity, inclusion and team bonding
    • Support the ANZ HR Manager in driving a high performance culture, assisting in developing and implementing HR strategies to align to the overall ANZD business strategy.
    • Champion company culture, collaboration and innovation across the business.
    • Maximize employee engagement to ensure increased talent attraction, retention and development.
  • Partner with the ANZD leadership team members and their managers to build and develop leadership standards, to support and resolve employee issues, and to guide and advise on people related matters
  • Partner with managers to identify, assess, select and develop talent. 
  • Manage the recruitment, selection and placement of employees in a timely and cost-effective manner with emphasis on promoting a diverse workforce
    • work with the Talent Acquisition team and HR Shared Services Team to interview and recruit to meet headcount targets
    • manage the onboarding of new employees
    • ensure talent and administrative needs are regularly reviewed and the employee experience is seamless
  • Assist in developing a learning organization, by focusing on the development of skills and experiences the business needs as well as enabling individuals to grow personally and professionally, by assisting the HRM and TMOE
    • evaluate competency requirements within the ANZD divisions
    • rollout of leadership, technical and mandatory Eaton L&D programs
    • competency and capability analysis including advising/implementing gap mitigation initiatives
    • annual training needs assessment and plan
    • Provide counsel to employees and managers on a range of HR issues and assist the HRM on ER/Workers Compensation cases as required.
    • Manage regular HR business as usual programs (APEX annual performance reviews, Merit/salary reviews, OCA succession planning, bonus schemes etc)
    • Assist in the development of local initiatives in line with global, sector, APAC and ANZ HR Programs – E.g. Wellness, Inclusion and Diversity, Employee Engagement Survey, ERG’s etc.
    • Manage local compensation and benefits and work with APAC C&B team on best practices for the local ANZD business
    • Assist in the development and benchmarking of company policies and practices to ensure they continue to support the ANZD organization’s needs. eg: Vehicle Policy, Parental Leave policy etc.
    • Ensure all people operational and administrative activities for carried-out in adherence to Eaton standards and Australia and New Zealand national and state employment legislation
    • Manage all employee related data maintained on various online systems and spreadsheets, ensuring
      • all data is accurate and current
      • all employee new start, promotion, transfer, termination and other changes are provided to payroll ontime using various systems and communication methods
    • Metrics management : maintain HR key performance metrics and scorecard (monthly online and spreadsheet driven), assist in review and analysis of metrics data to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention, and employee experience
    • Assist HRM by providing input to 5 year HR strategic Plan, annual Profit Plan (business plan), quarterly business reviews, APAC HR Operational reviews etc
    • Undertake branch visits (QLD, WA, VIC & NZ) to support regional based managers and employees on a semi-regular basis
  • Carrying out the roles and responsibilities as detailed in the quality, safety and environment policies and procedures
  • Commitment to the quality, safety and environment and proactively reporting any risks and issues
  • Understanding the company mission, vision, policies, objectives and other requirements of the quality, safety and environment management system
  • Undertake other HR related duties not included above as directed


  • Degree qualified in HR or related business discipline
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as HRBP or alternatively 3+ years’ experience as Senior GR Generalist (generalist broad based experience is mandatory)
  • Electrical industry experience and prior tenure in multi-national highly matrixed organisations is well regarded but not critical
  • Previously developed and delivered Training and Development Programmes, facilitated workshops
  • Ability to work in a small team and operate and influence at all levels of the organisation
  • A good understanding of the full scope of HR practices including Compensation and Benefits
  • Previously managed standard HR processes in non HQ environment (performance reviews, salary increases, succession planning, PIP’s, bonus schemes etc)
  • Strong HR Analytics Skills including high proficiency in Excel and HR systems is mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of HR philosophy and practice as well as proficiency in Aust and NZ employment legislation and business practice
  • Strong influencing, interpersonal and business partnering skills
    • with the ability to consult and coach managers and employees
    • facilitation and influencing skills
  • Prior involvement in HR strategy and implementation to improve organizational effectiveness
  • Change management skills and practical experience in management change initiatives would be highly valued
  • Critical thinking and mental agility – must be able to think strategically yet deliver pragmatically, think on feet and problem solving is essential
  • Strong alignment to Eaton’s Values and Ethics – able to demonstrate these and lead by example
  • Highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities, with strong attention to detail, accuracy and quality of deliverables (written and other) is mandatory
  • Sound HR administration skills and competence in the use of the Microsoft suite of applications is essential
  • Thorough experience in developing and administering HR policies, procedures and processes
  • Experience with Workers compensation and exposure to ER cases would be an advantage
