Job Description

Eaton in Houston, TX has an opening for a full-time Shipping and Receiving Clerk to work first shift.
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for conducting day to day shipping and support operations tied to Crouse Hinds ICI business.
You will perform routine but varied clerical duties in accordance with standard procedures. This includes clerical duties such as photocopying, compiling records, filing, tabulating, posting information, and distributing mail. Applies knowledge of department policies and procedures, and utilizes a general understanding of other department functions. Maintains records, prepares forms, verifies information and resolves routine problems.

In this role, you will also:
  • Unload materials from incoming trucks
  • Review vendor packing lists. Perform receiving functions in SAP Enterprise Software
  • Sort, organize, palletize incoming materials. Place received materials into inventory racks and storage bins while updating the correct inventory locations in SAP
  • Palletize, band, stretch wrap, and build crates for outbound shipments
  • Perform shipping functions in SAP Enterprise Software
  • Create bill of ladings for outbound shipments and schedule LTL and direct air shipment pickups
  • Create international shipment documentation

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a distribution environment
  • Minimum of 1 year experience operating a forklift
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Houston, TX will be considered
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Computer knowledge (including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Experience working with electrical products
  • Inventory function experience
  • SAP Experience
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Strong multi-tasker- must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment
Position Success Criteria:
  • Responsibilities are to be performed in a productive manner while ensuring Eaton standards of construction are maintained
  • Responsible for maintaining work area and general shop area in a clean and orderly condition
  • Follow standard or prescribed safety and environmental regulations
  • Refer all unusual conditions to proper supervision (safety, etc)
