Eaton’s Hydraulic Golf Pride division is seeking a R&D Master Engineering Technician- Golf Pride to join our team. The position will be based at our North America Tech Center (NATC) in Aberdeen, NC.
 
The Master Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting rubber compound formulations and online database management of material technology development.

  • You will perform rubber compounding, mixing and sheeting as necessary to support product development.  This includes color development as well as paint mixing.   Document procedures, recipes, results, and data in an online database.
  • You will accurately and consistently test rubber materials using a variety of diagnostic equipment such as RPA, MDR, ODR, Durometer, UV, and other test equipment.
  • You will support the global effort to minimize all raw materials used in all facilities ensuring global standards are being met.  Strive to reduce the number of raw materials used globally.
  • You will support the compliance of Global Material Standards.  Strive to establish common formulas and processes worldwide with the goal of minimizing the number of formulas developed.
  • You will mold, finish, and test grip products as required and record all data in an online database.
  • You will collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure material test equipment is calibrated to within 10% at each location.
  • You will establish best practices and lessons learned on compound formulas and process controls to achieve robust product quality and minimize blooming.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in materials science (i.e. chemistry, physics, etc.), biology, or engineering degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a lab environment.
  • Minimum of 1 year of with data collection, storage, and backup.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Material science from an accredited institution.
  • 2+ years of experience in a lab environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with data collection, storage, and backup.
  • 4+ years of experience mixing and molding rubber.
  • 4+ years of experience with analytical material test equipment (RPA, tensile, etc.)
Position Success Criteria:
  • Working knowledge of rubber mixing, calendering, and molding.
  • Data management and use of tools such as excel and online data management
  • A disciplined and logical thought process.
  • Organized, methodical, and quick.  Able to manage multiple projects with a focus on priorities and deliverables.
  • Individual must be responsible, responsive, consistent, and reliable.
  • Practical skills to get things done without much supervision.  
  • Software skills in Word, PowerPoint and proficiency in Excel
