Job Description

This position is accountable to plan, direct and control the sales activities of the District to attain assigned sales objectives within acceptable selling costs.
 
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Develop specific District plans necessary to execute Headquarters sales plans or to obtain a greater share of market for existing business.
  • Direct the selling activities of each salesperson in the District to insure performance of all CMP sales plan, projects, and activities.
  • Analyze and evaluate the performance of all distribution in the District, taking appropriate
  • action to increase sales with the proper level of distributor management as required.
  • Investigate all new product and market possibilities and report to the Vice President, Region Sales and the Vice President, Sales – US/Canada.
  • Recommend to the Vice President, Region Sales and the Vice President, Sales – US/Canada with respect to policies and procedures to improve the efficiency of the District
NATURE AND SCOPE:
 
Crouse-Hinds manufactures electrical construction materials product typically used in energy extraction processing, transportation, generation and end use‑conduit bodies and expansion/deflection fittings; cable and cord terminators; conduit unions, reducers, elbows, connectors, conduit outlet and switch boxes, junction boxes, cast enclosures for circuit protection devices, switches, motor starters, control devices, instruments; enclosed power and lighting panel boards; enclosed and protected lighting fixtures; heavy‑duty electrical plugs, receptacles, connectors.  All are in variations suitable for heavy and abusive service applications, and for use in wet, dirty, dusty, corrosive, flammable or explosive environments.
 
The responsibility of this position is directing the selling of our highly preferred products to End Users, Electrical Contractors, and Engineering Firms in the Heavy Process Industries.
 
In this position the incumbent assumes responsibility for the District Sales activities with distributors, major accounts and the closing of all major jobs within the District, personally assisting the people in securing business, where necessary.
 
The incumbent should have a thorough knowledge of all Electrical Material Products and how to sell them. The District Manager should have considerable experience in contacting distributor management, sales planning and analysis, and in the direction and motivation of sales personnel.
 
The District Manager will plan, administrate, and control District sales expense.  The incumbent evaluates reviews and reports in writing to the Region Manager, on the performance of each employee in the District semi‑annually, recommending changes in compensation or other action, as required.  The incumbent selects trains and encourages self‑development of all personnel within the District.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • 7 years of field sales management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Technical Sales from an accredited university
  • Experience selling into electrical or heavy industrial markets
Position Criteria:
  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding quotas and sales targets
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of growing sales reps into managers
  • Organized, detailed oriented and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Exceptional listening skills and self-motivation are essential
