Eaton’s Aerospace Fuel Motion Control division is seeking an entry level Test Engineer to join our team. The position will be based at our Grand Rapids, MI facility.
The Test Engineer is responsible for planning, executing and properly documenting the verification/certification of our products. Planning will include development and qualification documents as well as Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs) for automated test equipment. Execution will include developing development and qualification test procedures and test requests and driving tests schedules.  Documentation will include preparing test reports based on test results assisted by senior engineers

  • You will develop test equipment requirements from customer and product requirements.
  • You will develop test plans and procedures for verifying the test equipment and the product functional requirements.
  • You will design and develop simple test equipment for development, qualification, and production electro-mechanical product verification.
  • You will follow established engineering test equipment processes and guidelines and contribute to improvement of these processes and guidelines.
  • You will contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Engineering Imperatives by maintaining a high level of involvement, motivation, and keeping abreast of current technical changes.
  • You will assist technicians with conducting qualification and development testing.
  • You will coordinate with outside test labs to conduct testing.
  • You will assist senior engineers with preparing labor hour and cost estimates for new development programs.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in engineering or engineering technology from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 1 year of engineering or testing experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Grand Rapids, MI will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience with engineering or testing.
  • Aerospace industry experience.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical actuators.
  • Experience designing automated testing equipment.   
Position Success Criteria:
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
