Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds Division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Syracuse, New York facility.
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for planning and implementing programs of change, using Manufacturing Engineering knowledge, up to date technology and techniques, in cooperation with the manufacturing departments in helping to achieve the company goal of getting the best quality product with the highest efficiency and lowest cost possible.

  • You will monitor, improve and maintain processes, layouts, and part prints.
  • You will maintain a constant search for identifiable and measurable cost reductions through scrap analysis and technology applications.
  • You will assist in training new employees and provide continuous support to employee involvement teams.
  • You will implement a safe work environment by implementing a culture of accidents prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and application of rules. Identify, control and administer risk and danger in own area.
  • You will motivate and coach employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity, and quality through effectively utilizing available rewards and recognition channels to encourage and promote desired behaviors and results.
  • You will program and set up CNC machines using long hand G-Code, Mazatrol, Gibbs Cam and other software. Provide programming support on production jobs.
  • You will train CNC machine set up operators on new machining technologies as needed.
  • You will design new jigs, tools, fixtures, and special equipment for CNC applications and provide technical direction to production personnel.
  • You will redesign existing tooling, update tool drawings, and revise records, as required by changes in manufacturing processes.
  • You will investigate quality problems relative to machining and provide technical direction to implement corrective action on defective tooling and or improper manufacturing methods.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum 1 year of engineering experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • No relocation provided. Candidates must currently reside within 50 miles from the Syracuse, NY facility to be considered.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of CNC Programming experience, strongly preferred.
