Job Description

The Airdrie plant is hiring a summer intern to work in our Operational Excellence/Engineering departments.
 
The plant is located in Airdrie Alberta, reporting to the Materials Manager. This is a project based student internship. Details of the position are listed below:
 
Responsibilities:
  •  Analyze, design, and develop new Microsoft Access VBA applications
  • Maintain and improve existing VBA applications as well as reverse engineer current macros by debugging and stepping through code
  • Design, Implement and extend functionality of Microsoft Access databases in Production and Front-End Engineering
  • Design and implement fully functional Microsoft Access Reports based on the business needs
  • Modify and Enhance home-grown VB .NET and C# .NET  plug-in tools for Microsoft Outlook and AutoCAD 2012 in LVCA Plant
  • Design and implement new tools and databases as needed by the operation

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Actively enrolled in as a 3rd or 4th year engineering degree program
  • This position does not offer relocation. The candidate must reside within 80 km of Airdrie, AB.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD software
  • Familiarity with lean and agile principles
  • Advanced Access and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), including complex functions, subroutines, modules and classes
  • Programming principles for modular and object oriented design
  • Experience in .NET programming, classes, methods and structures
