Job Description

Eaton’s Aerospace division is currently seeking a Machine Operator – Blanchard (2nd Shift) to join our team. This position is based at our Beltsville, MD facility.  The Machine Operator-Blanchard is responsible for operating Saw and Blanchard machines. Use calibration equipment such as calipers, or any other equipment necessary to perform job functions.

  • You will setup and run both saw and Blanchard (grinders) machines
  • You will use basic MFG-Pro screen maintenance
  • You will run the gateway release for operator report daily
  • You will print work orders
  • You will identify problems with material lots and quantities
  • You will perform all 5S+ activities and keep immediate work area clean and free from hazards
  • You will work in accordance with general safety rules and practices
  • You will be responsible for finished parts conformity to print or specification.
  • You will participate in continuous improvement of processes
  • You will maintain cell charts
  • You will dedicate a minimum of one hour a week on continuous improvements activities
  • You will perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
 
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.  
  • Minimum of one year of manufacturing work experience.
  • Authorized to work in US without sponsorship
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

 

Position Success Criteria :

  • Must be able to use the computer
  • Read and comprehend specifications, engineering drawings and manufacturing routings
  • Position requires exposure to oil, dirt, and heat
  • Must wear safety glasses, ear plugs and steel toed shoes for entire shift
  • Ability to stand, sit, move 8-12 hours a day
  • Must be able to lift up to 35lbs on a regular basis
