Primary Function:
 
This position is responsible for working with the Electrical Engineering Service & Systems group to provide onsite engineering and technical assistance in areas of electrical equipment maintenance, new equipment commissioning, custom electrical equipment modification, wiring, controls, drives and breakers.
 
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assist Field Service personnel in a wide variety of electrical work.
  • Assist in creating detailed and quality reports to customers covering the scope of work performed.
  • Follow required safety practices.
  • Manage paperwork and office procedures, as required.
  • Perform all work at a high level.
  • Be willing and available to work evenings and weekends, as required by our customers.
  • Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton’s Philosophy and Values, as well as Safety and Environmental standards.

Eaton has the largest and most experienced team of field services technicians and engineers in the industry. This team brings extensive skills and experiences to field service engineering. Active participation in recognized technical societies such as NFPA and IEEE and collaboration with a variety of utilities and industries ensures that our engineers are knowledgeable about today’s cutting edge technology and engineering techniques. We assist customers at every stage of the power system: offering start-up and commissioning of equipment, performing planned maintenance, monitoring performance, diagnosing system problems remotely, as well as responding to emergencies on a 24/7 basis, 365 days a year. Our support services help businesses make the most of their existing electrical equipment by optimizing performance and extending the life of existing facilities. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Actively enrolled in an Electrical Engineering Degree program or Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma program.
  • This position does not offer relocation. Candidate must reside within 80 km of Edmonton.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Good organizational and time management skills required.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics would be an asset.
  • Mechanical skills would be an asset.
  • Good attitude and work ethic required.
  • Valid driver’s license
