Eaton’s Power Components Division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift to join our team. This position is based at our Horseheads, New York facility.

  • You will participate in the design of products, processes and systems to surpass competition in total product quality, cost, and service.  This shall include new, as well as existing products and capabilities.
  • You will be responsible for appropriate testing and evaluating of products, parts, equipment, tools and systems, along with necessary corrective follow-up.
  • You will perform the duties and responsibilities of the manufacturing engineer and department supervisor level.
  • You will coordinate and lead new manufacturing process development programs.
  • You will manage day to day operations for department by driving department throughput, on-time delivery and productivity through daily and weekly meetings with teams.
  • You will address unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and hazards in work area(s) and evaluate ensuing corrections and support Safety as the primary priority.
  • You will maintain good employee relations and adherence to the Union Management Labor contract, and takes proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required.
  • You will manage and track the efficient use of overtime to meet production goals.
  • You will support deployment of the Eaton Quality System and Eaton Lean Six Sigma.
  • You will be responsible for time and attendance record keeping and administration for hourly employees.
  • You will drive teamwork between shifts/group and cross-functional team.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing, engineering, or supervisory experience (or a combination of these functions).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Experience with assembly and testing operations.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing.
  • Experience leading process improvement and change initiatives.


Position Success Criteria:

  • Proficiency using Oracle (or similar program), Kanban, and other manufacturing systems.
