Sales Manager – Mains Lighting
Location: Dubai – United Arab Emirates
The primary function is to provide support in a given geographic area (UAE) to build sustainable sales growth of the mains lighting business. This is achieved by:
  • Develop, agree and execute sales & marketing plans and programs for this sector, both, short and long range to ensure the profit growth and expansion of products and/or services. This embraces strategies covering both incremental growths within the presently established markets, together with market development in targeted growth regions.
  • Develop annual and long term action plans, designed to ensure that Eaton targets for growth in the assigned territories are met.
  • Ensure timely, accurate quotations of project quotes in assigned areas.
  • Prepare accurate and timely sales analysis using CRM and all other available tools, and keep them updated on a weekly basis to provide management with information relating to sales results and forecast.
  • Drive the technical support to the customers within the territory, and provide the necessary training programs for the customers within the assigned territory to make sure that they are up to the required level to handle and deliver Eaton products in professional manner.
  • Maintain effective customer relations to ensure Eaton’s position in market.
  • Provide advice and guidance to manufacturing units regarding product requirements for the target markets with the objective of securing maximum market share and sustainable market growth.
  • Undertake Distributor management to ensure client satisfaction and the ongoing serviceability of mains lighting products
  • To communicate and connect other Eaton divisions in order to support and deliver cross selling within Eaton divisions in the assigned territory.
  • Generate demand by visiting designers and consultant locally to make sure we influence new projects design as per our technology and USP to add Eaton in their approved vendor list.
Essential Functions:
  • Should have clear knowledge on best practices using Dialux design platform.
  • Gain local market understanding within the assigned UAE region, including  benchmarking and Voice of Customer.
  • Contribute to New Product Development process in cooperation with Product Manager providing market specific requirements linked with local certification and market VOC to make sure the Product portfolio is attractive and competitive
  • Provides support for special quotes and project management.
  • Organizes training (both internal and external) and supports sales team for key account visits.
  • Participates in local market in launching new product line and deploy trainings to the team and customers.
  • Participates in local market specific marcom activities: supporting local exhibitions, promotions, catalogue/leaflets, demo material in liaison with the sales org marcom team
  • Coordinates country specific New Product Development and New Product Introduction on an ad-hoc basis
  • Stay abreast of Intellectual Property processes and policies
  • Stay current with emerging technology and competitive trends


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering 
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience of sales, (of which at-least 5 years in UAE) business and marketing experience within the GCC
  • A demonstrable technical understanding of lighting products.
  • Understanding of UAE market and mains lighting products.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing project management, planning, and budgeting, analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Product Line and application principles
  • Ability to engage in highly technical sales, Strong presentation and training capabilities, Ability to work across divisions within Eaton Corp.
  • Highly motivated and proven ability to operate in a matrix environment leveraging appropriate resources.
  • Ability to travel regionally up to 25% of the time Sales Field engagement up to 50% of the time  
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • Ability to work with both commercial and tactical issues simultaneously.
  • Able to gain close but ethical proximity to our customers, gaining key VOC information
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and problem solve in an operating environment.
  • Self-motivated, accepts ownership for results, takes initiative
  • Project management skills + Excellent communication skills with ability to work in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to communicate, present and negotiate at all levels in and outside the organization; professional presence
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel  and other key presentation software.
  • Interpersonal and influencing skills, ability to coordinate / manage people w/o reporting relationships
  • Fluency in English is a must along with native language.
