Eaton in Wilsonville, OR has a 1st shift Operational Excellence Technician opening.
Primary Function:
Work with Operation Excellence manager to drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the production facility focusing on safety, Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS), continuous improvement framework (CIF), and facilities and maintenance.
Essential Functions:
  • Assist the OpEx Manager in implementing all aspects of the Eaton Business System at the facility. Provide support for the implementation of safety and Eaton Quality Management System across the facility as well as assist in resolving daily production issues.
  • Provide action to implement improvements – this may include building racks, relocating parts, sorting, straightening, shining, painting, and lifting. Provide support to the Total Preventative Maintenance program – this may include maintaining and repairing production and support equipment.
  • Support the implementation of the Continuous Improvement Framework.
  • Manage purchasing of tools, PPE, and manufacturing supplies.
  • Manage the tracking and organization of tools supplied to shop, calibration of tools and equipment, and list of equipment and machinery along with maintenance timing and records.
  • Own and report out the safety observations through MESHPrism.
  • Lead teams to perform the regular audits of the plant’s operations to find opportunities for improvement.
  • Continuously enhance personal skills and knowledge of the subject matters pertaining to the operations initiatives, through networking, education, and training.
  • Support and own the employee onboarding process for all PPC new hires/temps.
  • Participate/lead local teams (Safety) to improve site conditions, productivity, and performance.
  • Initiate and own capital and cost out projects.
  • Support the OpEx team in regular internal audits and other actions in accordance with the ISO9001:2015 standard.
  • Perform other functions as assigned.


Required Qualifications:
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution is required
•2 years of experience working with LEAN principles and/or Safety & Quality concepts
•Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing setting
•Must reside within a 50 mile radius of work location; no relocation benefit is provided.
•Must be legally authorized to work within the United States without company Sponsorship.
Position Criteria:
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Participate in and demonstration of understanding of other programs, such as MESH, 5S, Eaton Safety Process (ESP), etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in electrical assembly or manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Certifications focused on LEAN, Continuous Improvement and/or EHS
  • Knowledge of production equipment operation and maintenance
  • Quality or Safety internal audit experience
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office tools
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills
  • Forklift driver certification
  • Scissor lift operator certification
