Job Description

Eaton located in Shanghai China has an opening for a Test Engineer supporting the Powertrain Torque Control Products Group. 

 

The primary function of this role is test engineering focusing on Torque Control Products (TCP) business for Vehicle Group in China. The test engineer (TE) should run tests for TCP products (MLD, ELD, EGD, etc.) in Tech Center lab with test reports. The test engineer will maintain the lab equipment and instruments ready and functional for all tests and run the tests required by engineering team. It is needed to discuss with engineering on the product optimization and modifications. The test engineer should also help his/her supervisor on lab construction.

 

Essential functions of the role include:

A. Plan and conduct product testing using advanced control and data acquisition systems. Reports test results in a clear and concise manner, and makes design recommendations;
B. Investigate, specify, procure, install and validate testing equipment.
C. Coordinate activities with product engineers and a team of technicians.
D. Develop and apply the technical and diagnostic skills to verify functionality of test equipment.
E. Bring about resolution on technical issues and interface with internal and external groups;
F. Frequently use hand tools as needed to perform specialized tests, troubleshoot/repair equipment, etc. Participate in the planning, deployment and growth of supercharger R&D testing capabilities.
G. Good communication both in English and Chinese, High standards for personal performance and work ethics. Communicate with experts abroad and at home on testing and test preparation.
H. Test report conducting with Microsoft Excel, Project Plan, etc.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor degree in vehicle engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronic engineering or relevant degree from an accredited university

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

3 year working experience, preferable in the automotive industry; 

Knowledge on vehicle chassis system, differential, and powertrain;

Test experience on powertrain (engine, transmission, shaft), chassis system, and steering system. Rear axle/differential test experience preferred;
ECU calibration/CAN BUS knowledge/experience is a plus; 
Harness making/debug experience is a plus; 
Problem solving skill/8D experience preferred; 
Perfect communication skill;
Familiar with manufacturing process and tooling design; 

Familiar with MS office; 

Communication in Chinese and English--writing and oral;
