Job Description

The primary function of this position is to inspect purchased parts and materials for conformance to specifications prior to approving and releasing parts to be used in production and managing the review and return of defective supplier materials. The Inspector is responsible for performing the various job functions as described in the job description at an acceptable level of efficiency and accuracy. The inspector must be willing to perform various duties and assist all other team members as needed to meet goals of the Quality Department and the control of non-conforming material.                                                 
  • Run weekly reports from Q-pulse and lead cross-functional Material Review Board meeting.
  • Examines received items for defects in materials, workmanship and damage occurring in transit.  Compares quantity and part number of items with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order.  Inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy and functional operation, based on engineering drawings, company standards and other specifications.  Must be able to learn and effectively utilize a variety of precision inspection tools and equipment. (ex. Optical comparator, dial indicators, calipers, pin & thread gages, etc.)  Approves or rejects items and records inspections and disposition information in computerized receiving inspection program.
  • Performs nondestructive testing of test samples, in accordance with the ISO Process Qualification Plans for the qualification of operators for special processes throughout the plant. Evaluate problems and/or discrepancies (non-conformance) occurring in purchased parts and product or processes and determine resolution
  • Performs calibrations and preventive maintenance on precision measuring instruments used throughout the plant and maintains the calibration records in the Q-Pulse computerized calibration module in accordance with ISO requirements. Plans and coordinates the calibration of in-house testing instruments with the appropriate calibration vendor.
  • Refers to documents such as the NFOI’s, PQP’s, Engineering drawings and specifications to perform receiving inspection, calibration and special process operator qualifications.
  • Take measures to ensure that quality standards are met and that variance is within quality standards.
  • Investigate the cause of producing nonconforming product, initiate the corrective action to prevent recurrence, implement and record changes in procedures that may be required.
  • Interact with Pune shared services, suppliers, purchasing, production, marketing and engineering personnel as required
  • Perform precision sampling of oil systems for Dissolved Gas Analysis and moisture/di-electric properties.
  • Analyze incoming steel certifications and ensure that they meet Material Specification document requirements.
  • Train on internal auditing and facilitate internal audits to ISO requirements.
  • Must be very proficient in using PC software, especially SAP, Q-pulse, and excel to complete tasks and run required reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety & Housekeeping practices, company policies & procedures.



  • A high school diploma or GED form an accredited institution is required. 
  • Must be able to work in the US without company sponsorship.
  • Relocation benefits not included. Only candidates living within 50 miles of Waukesha WI will be considered.


  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and understand engineering documents, shop drawings, product specifications, NFOI’s, PQP’s, JSA’s, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and instruction
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, must be able to interact with external auditors, customers, and suppliers on a regular basis
  • Able to change work hours and work shifts with short notice
  • Operate a computer with reasonable speed and high accuracy using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel primarily), SAP, and Q-pulse
