Job Description

Eaton's Electrical Division has an opening for a:

 

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

 

The primary function of the role is to assist and lead new product design and development as well as leading maintenance and VAVE activities. You will be a strategic partner in driving the product roadmap for fusing and switching products and collaboration with the manufacturing plants.

Essential Functions:

 

·       Lead the development of FMEAs, engineering drawings and prototype control plans.

·       Play an active role in design reviews for projects.

·       Work towards becoming a Design Authority for relevant products.

·       Interpret test results and execute any necessary design changes.

·       Perform product maintenance engineering activities and consult with remote support teams.

·       Support custom solution projects where needed.

·       Act to resolve urgent quality issues, including customer visits where necessary.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Knowledge:

 

·       Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic/Systems Engineering or Physics.

·       Sound industry experience working with IEC standards.

·       Special know-how of electrical design and development.

·       Problem solving skills and creativity.

·       Self-driven and customer focused.

·       Ability to communicate and collaborate with international locations and cultures.

·       Excellent PC skills, including 3D drawing packages.

·       Positive and enthusiastic attitude.

·       Willingness and ability to travel inside and outside of the UK (20-25%)
