You will oversee metallography lab upkeep - Maintain and troubleshoot equipment in metallography lab, keep lab documentation up to date and in order.
You will write and modify lab test procedures, train personnel in use/implementation.
You will become the technical expert for all metallography audits/questions.
You will prepare and evaluate samples such as welds, surface features, microstructure, hardness, etc.
You will provide technical support in Manufacturing (i.e. Nitriding and Metal Heat Treatment).
You will assist with the preparation for Failure Analyses reports.
You will consult with cognizant engineers to elect if additional testing is warranted if test results are questionable.
Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Sciences, or Engineering from an accredited institution required.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
This position requires the use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the international Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be US persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a US Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
No relocation offered for this position. Only candidates who reside within a 50 mile radius from the Euclid, OH facility will be considered.
Master’s Degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science from an accredited institution.
Minimum 5 years of experience with metallography/hardness testing procedures and laboratory test equipment.
Experience with mechanical and SEM testing.
Experience writing procedures/interpreting industry standards.
