Eaton’s Hydraulic Fluid Conveyance division is seeking a Product Engineer to join our team. The position will be based at our Maumee, OH facility.
 
The Product Engineer is responsible for guiding technical projects and act as an expert in numerous Fluid Conveyance products and processes.

  • You will establish and manage technical relationships with several material suppliers through regular meetings, guiding non-disclosure agreements, making on-site visits and hosting suppliers in Eaton facilities, to provide feedback on latest material technologies being developed that ensure Eaton product offerings take advantage of the latest advances.
  • You will guide the development of new products to meet market needs, profitability goals, reliability requirements and manufacturing capability in accordance with DFSS development practices.
  • You will initiate project plans, which include the scheduled actions and the resources required to meet the project goals. Execute projects according to the established plan.
  • You will perform and document design calculations, including simulations and advanced testing for new designs and design revisions. Guide product design reviews and follow through on recommended changes.
  • You will maintain product design control, initiate and follow through on Engineering changes, and verify all documentation of new designs or design changes is complete.
  • You will work with manufacturing engineers and supply chain managers to assure manufacturability, cost effectiveness and reliability of the assigned product lines. Perform trade off testing and guide VA/VE events.
  • You will resolve product performance issues through team oriented problem solving and document according to the 8D process.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of product engineering experience.
  • Experience with project or program management/engineering.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Maumee, OH will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of product engineering experience
  • Fluid Conveyance related product engineering experience.
  • Hydraulics industry experience.
  • Design for Six Sigma certification.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience with Eaton’s PROLaunch process.
Position Success Criteria:
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
