Transformation  Initiatives Manager, Operations EMEA

 

 

Primary Function

 

 

The operations manager  provides expert advice and coaching to the site’s manufacturing leadership to ensure standardization,  deployment and execution of best-practices in manufacturing and continuous improvement  consistent with the Aerospace Group Transformation Initiatives strategy.

 

The operations manager is responsible for overseeing the daily cadence of running the production floor consistent with best practices established by Aerospace Group.  Support the deployment of HPWT structures, Tier Meetings, hour by hour boards, communication mechanisms throughout each site identified.

 

Responsible to ensures accountability and enables the predictability of the outcomes of each transformation site’s manufacturing performance.

 
 

Essential Functions of the role

 

·       Lead the deployment of the Operations Transformation Initiatives defined by Aerospace Group.

·       Provide leadership to the teams to meet or exceed the operational objectives of shipments, on-time delivery, past dues, productivity scrap/rework, and overtime utilization.

·       Supports change management leadership.

·       Direct and coordinate the manufacturing organization implementing standard metrics, standard operating process improvements and organizational changes to drive world class performance in Safety, OTD, DOH, FLEX & CONC.

·       Accountable for the day-to-day decisions that directly impact the quality, efficiency, and profitability of the sites selected.

·       Develops controls and critically reviews results of manufacturing in reference to planned targets.

·       Helps the sites Ops and VSM leaders maintains a workforce of highly motivated employees with a morale that is conducive to high performance with performance being measured at or above minimum acceptable levels. 

·       Broad responsibilities and leadership of a multi-disciplined, cross-functional team with overall accountability for performance of assigned businesses.

·       Direct operations, management of budgets, manning, capacity planning, equipment utilization and scheduling in accordance with SIOP and Absorption plans to meet profit plan.

·       Utilize Tiers to plan and coordinate manufacturing departments and support groups to effectively meet customer requirements.

·       The Transformation team member serves as a primary advisor on manufacturing systems, capabilities, production status, and forecast demands.

·       Accountable for the day-to-day decisions that directly impact the quality, efficiency, and profitability of the overall plant.

 
 
 
 

Qualifications

Specialist Knowledge Required for this position

 

·       Basic Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, etc.), business or similar.

·       10 years of experience minimum in Manufacturing, Engineering or CI

·       Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship

·       Experience with MRP and BOM structure preferred.

·       Project management experience preferred.

·       Strong project management skills

·       Six Sigma Black Belt Certified preferred

 

·       OPA, EBE Assessor, CPIM preferred, Six Sigma Black Belt Certified

·       Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others.

·       Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills.

·       Ability to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focus.
