Product Manager - VAS EMEA


Location: Could Be Located Anywhere in EMEA


The Product Manager will be responsible for researching, developing, creating and executing a strategic plan with the focus of making VAS a unique selling proposition for Eaton in EMEA. The person in this position will need to act and think strategically and get the buy in from other Product line managers, country sales organizations, operations and R&D.


The incumbent will drive new services which in conjunction with the Eaton portfolio of products will lead to sales growth and increased profitability and will contribute to future developments across all the Eaton segments through market research & analysis. One key responsibility will be to support and assist VAS and Eaton to meeting our annual financial objectives.

This person will be able to navigate through the Eaton product line structures and find the best solution for the growth of Eaton as a Value Add supplier of choice, customizing new solutions including existing Eaton products to answer customized Customer requests. 


In addition the PM will create and drive an operations strategy for assembling and services. It will involve finding the right location for the manufacturing / assembly of the solutions/products which are proposed to customers and this could be internal Eaton or a third party supplier and will work closely with the program manager and ensure that we stay focused on the VAS ‘play to win’ strategy and ensuring success for new project requests, timely introduction of new solutions whilst maintaining high standard of product quality.


Essential Functions:


  • Leads all product marketing and business development/support activities for assigned product lines in EMEA.
  • Product marketing positioning and outbound messaging in EMEA for assigned product lines.
  • Create and drives the definition of marketing communication strategies for assigned product lines in EMEA, working with corporate marketing and communications team to develop and deploy relevant sales and marketing tools & campaigns.
  • Create a pricing strategy in EMEA for assigned product lines, analyzing market pricing and closely monitoring end-to-end margins.
  • Gathers voice of the customer and accumulates market knowledge of key targeted segments and competitive offerings.
  • Leads and drives new product development projects from the specification of market requirements to the launch of new service product.
  • Investigates and evaluates new market/business opportunities, contributing to the VAS strategy planning.
  • Receives escalation on pre-sales questions for assigned product lines in synchronization with Divisional Business Developers.
  • Maintains a constant dialogue and strongly interface with the main vertical sales leaders that are important to his product line.
  • Trains country sales teams and champions in countries on VAS solutions.
  • Leads all product marketing and business development/support activities for assigned product lines in EMEA.
  • Create a VAS Operations strategy, finding the right location for the manufacturing / assembly of the solutions/products which are proposed to customers and this could be internal Eaton or a third party supplier.
  • Leads the VAS operational performance by creating, deploying and tracking actionable metrics.
  • Ensuring customer requirements and customer satisfaction is met whilst operating within budgeted expenditure levels. 
  • Can act both, strategically and tactically, in order to respond to current demands and plans for the future.
  • He/she will also play a leading role in developing the future project strategy for VAS with special emphasis on developing an effective, agile, customer focused, organization.
  • He/she will interface directly with customers and suppliers as required and participate in planning and strategy development as a senior member of the business management team.


  • University Degree from Business school or Master degree
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in a product or segment marketing, plant controlling, sales or engineering role.
  • Ability to learn, articulate, market and support products and identify what would add value to our customers.
  • Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously and complete projects with tight deadlines in a highly international environment  in a matrix organization.
  • Ability to think and act strategically and strongly customer-oriented.
  • Good written & oral communications, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English, German would be a plus.
