Eaton’s Hydraulics Power  Motion Control division is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to join our team. The position will be based at our Shawnee, OK facility.
The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for guiding, facilitating and coordinating the engineering activities and resources per established practices and/or policies within the job area to ensure quality parts that meet or exceed customer expectations while keeping safety first.   • You will coordinate manufacturing and machinery feasibility of new or existing products and implement cost effective machining methods.  Estimate manufacturing costs of new products, including procurement of CNC machinery, tooling, and gaging.
  • You will  develop and establish metal cutting machinery processes including programming CNC machines, establish routing, and provide detailed operation instruction documents for machined parts.
  • You will direct the procurement of specialized machine tools and gages by evaluating design concepts, initiating full orders, justifying expenditures and submitting capital appropriation requests
  • You will coordinate and direct CNC machine selection and cost justification.  Interview suppliers, perform machine run offs, and approve machining capability of new capital equipment.
  • You will implement changes and improvements in machine tooling, gaging, and inspection methods to produce a higher quality product.
  • You will evaluate machining problems and provide solutions to improve processing methods, i.e.., cost reduction, scrap reduction and productivity improvements
  • You will participate in design review of product drawing, making suggested changes when needed, provide input in product growth strategies, and support new product launches.
  • You will develop, mentor, and coach engineers to be successful.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 6 years of engineering or manufacturing experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing tools.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and training in process work instructions, standardized work, OBC, error proofing.
  • Knowledge of basics quality tools such as STP, capability studies and gage R&R´s.
  • Experience conducting multidisciplinary teams.
  • Skills at interpreting mechanical drawings and basic use of CAD systems.
  • Knowledge of machinery functions (hydraulic, electrical, mechanical operations).
  • Green Belt/Black belt Certification (Six Sigma) would be a plus.
Position Success Criteria:
  • Willing to travel up to 10 % of the time.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, tool design, and gaging for metal cutting applications. CNC programming knowledge and experience with various controls for metal cutting applications.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, coolants, lubricants, inspection and quality requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of machine speeds and feeds, metal properties, and high precision tolerances.
  • Very good PC familiarity to include one or more state-of-the-art CAD/CAM packages.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and an effective pioneer of multi-functional teams comprised of people from all levels within the organization.
  • Develop projected spending and budget for department.
