Senior Embedded SW Engineer  - Power Electronics
 
Job description:
 
Eaton is looking for a Power Electronics Software Senior Engineer to develop innovative technologies and platforms for our electrical and hybrid solutions for on- and off-road vehicles at the Eaton European Innovation center in Prague (EEIC), Czech Republic. 
 
This individual will be responsible for designing, developing and testing software for power electronics platforms and solutions in power conversion and distribution applications in hybrid and electric vehicles. This individual will be a member of the global eMobility group reporting to Advanced Development Manager.
 
  • Perform design, modeling, simulation, implementation, validation & verification of embedded real-time software and algorithms for power conversion, traction and distribution applications in electrical and hybrid solutions for on- and off-road vehicles
  • Participate in software/firmware & controls development, design, implementation and verification efforts
  • Collaborate with system/control and power electronics engineers in developing new power electronics technologies and products
  • Assist in developing product specifications, architecture, designs, safety agency certification plans and product release
  • Evaluate designs to meet requirements factoring in performance, cost, size, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Create plans and documentation in compliance with customer specifications and automotive industry standards and regulations (ISO 26262, IEC 61508, ASPICE, CMMI, etc.) by using Eaton internal templates
  • Collaborate with team members for ensuring successful conclusion of all phases of assigned standard engineering projects, within an appropriate time
 
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor  degree in Informatics or Electrical Engineering discipline, or related from an accredited university
  • Experience with embedded system applications or relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience in full life-cycle of software development and verification
  • Experience with Mathworks family tools (Matlab/Simulink)
  • Experience in Hardware-In-the-Loop, Model-In-the-Loop, and/or Software-In-the-Loop simulations
  • Experience in innovation, new technology, and product development
  • Fluent in oral and written English
