Eaton’s Power Systems Division is currently seeking a Global Logistics Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Waukesha, WI location.

Position overview:

This position is accountable to direct all transportation activities of Eaton’s Power Systems Division (PSD) to assure that Eaton’s Power Systems Customers receive the most efficient and economical transportation of finished goods, supplies, raw materials and hazardous material in accordance with applicable governmental regulations. This position is accountable for the Domestic and International Logistics Teams activities and processes.

Essential Functions:

This position is accountable to direct all transportation activities of Eaton’s Power Systems Division (PSD) to assure that Eaton’s Power Systems Customers receive the most efficient and economical transportation of finished goods, supplies, raw materials and hazardous material in accordance with applicable governmental regulations. This position is accountable for the Domestic and International Logistics Teams activities and processes.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Recommends the establishment of, and participates in, the implementation of all Eaton’s Shipping and Receiving Safety recommendations.
  • Ensure that all freight is classified, routed, shipped and delivered  in accordance with cost and service objectives to complement all Eaton and Eaton Power Systems business initiatives.
  • Responsible to manage whereabouts of all freight inbound and outbound. Provide Proof of Delivery (POD) as required. Utilize any available technology and/or third party information for freight management.   
  • Perform relationship management with all modes of transportation, brokers, and  specifically PSD truckload carriers to foster open and effective communication.
  • Represents all Power Systems Logistics facilities working in conjunction with the Eaton Electrical Sector Logistics Management to support integration and implementation of Logistics Processes and Policies.
  • Oversee PSD Distribution centers, external warehouses, and 3PL operations; Including but not limited to, location optimization,  operational oversight (KPIs, issue resolution, relationship management, cost-out, Improvement activities), and contract negotiations.    
  • Advise Shipping Plant management in shipment planning of volume loads to geographic locations, breakpoint and distribution centers; identifying and scheduling  the proper carrier/equipment to support the consolidated shipments cognizant of cost and service objectives
  • Leverage Eaton-wide carrier agreements; negotiate with carriers, conduct statistical studies, employ audit techniques, and analyze logistic modeling studies to achieve reduction in transportation costs for Power Systems in accordance with Eaton Corporate guidelines and policies.
  • Drive Logistics and Logistics related Cost out and improvement projects across PSD.
  • Provide leadership, direction and talent management for Power Systems Global Logistics Team. Build team objectives and employee development plans to ensure all goals are clearly defined and met.
  • Control and Report Compliance.  Develop and Implement processes in accordance with Eaton Procedures and Policies.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

·       A minimum of 7 years supply chain experience in a manufacturing organization

·       Must be authorized to work in the Mexico without company sponsorship.


Preferred Qualifications: (Not required to be qualified for the role)

·       Bachelor's degree in a supply chain management field from an accredited institution

·       Experience in Global Trade Management, managing a Logistics and/or Transportation function and building organizational capability in that function

·       SAP experience preferred

·       Desire CPIM and/or APICS certification

·       Lean Manufacturing certification/experience preferred

 

Position Success Criteria:

  • Awareness of market conditions (i.e. changing prices, supply considerations and demand variables) in his/her pertinent commodities of responsibility.
  • Relationships with Marketing, Engineering, Operations and Supplier personnel must be effective to achieve goals.                                                                                                                                                                                                                               
  • The incumbent must possess a strong sense of urgency, ownership and effective communication skills.
  • Prior experience with global logistics analysis and management
  • Prior experience in employee supervision / management
  • Prior project management experience of cross-functional teams
  • Structured negotiation experience including contract negotiation
  • Excel proficiency
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to lead a global team
  • Detail oriented with an ability to transform the organization and lead change through innovative ideas and metrics based results
  • Expertise at establishing cross-functional relationships and partnerships through product and process knowledge.
