Eaton’s Hydraulics Power  Motion Control Division is seeking an entry level Electronics Technician to join our team. The position will be based at our Eden Prairie, MN facility.
 
The Electronics Technician is responsible for providing valuable experience and appreciation of the test methodology specifically used in the Hydraulics Test Lab. In this role, you will assure the successful and earliest completion of test orders that evaluate performance of new products and existing products with minor or major modifications.

  • You will provide expertise of basic electronics and laboratory practices.
  • You will create test set-ups to complete specific and standard test processes.
  • You will assists in the implementation of corrective action to test set-ups as required by established lab procedures or test orders, or when performance falls below acceptable limits.
  • You will communicate test programs to engineering personnel when appropriate to clarify purpose of testing and the required test results.
  • You will document and organizes test results per standard electronic format for simple retrieval of test history and corresponding data.
  • You will complete annual calibration of all instrumentation per standard test lab procedure as required.
  • You will complete all internal inspection requests as required by engineering.
  • You will maintain a clean and safe working environment in the test lab in alignment with Lean and Environmental, Health, and Safety corporate initiatives.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Electronics, electronic circuits, and/or electronics schematics from a combination of work, classroom, design project and/or internship experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of 50 miles of Eden Prairie, MN will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in electronics technology or electronics related field.
  • Electronic build/repair work.
  • Wire harness assembly.
  • Surface mount soldering.
  • Environmental testing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be professional and courteous.
  • Microsoft Office suite experience.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, with a strong attention to detail.
Position Success Criteria:
  • Must have an understanding of electronics including: AC, DC, and Pulse Width Modulated power, series and parallel circuits, ohms law, power conversions, inductance, capacitance, resistive and diode components and measurements using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment.
  • Must work toward the completion of test requests in order to meet committed deadlines.  The ability to meet committed deadlines has a lasting effect on customer satisfaction in developing new products, or in making minor or major changes to existing products and in satisfying specific application requirements.
