Manage and direct the Manufacturing team (Manufacturing Supervision) to ensure the achievement of the plant goals focusing on employee safety, product quality, on-time delivery, productivity, lean manufacturing, environmental impact reduction and cost-out activities.
A. Direct responsibility for Manufacturing.
B. Accountable for Plant throughput, on-time performance, quality, and productivity.
C. Leads efforts to improve quality and cost of all products, processes and services of the operation.
D. Manages according to the Eaton Philosophy.
E. Assure ISO 9001, ISO 140001 and EHS compliance plus drives for continuous improvement in safety, environmental impact, workplace organization and cleanliness.
F. Develops subordinates to optimize their performance and their personal and professional growth.
G. Assures proper training and development of manufacturing associates at all levels.
Makes sure all departmental and individual goals are directly aligned with overall plant goals.
H. Establishes a good working atmosphere with strong ethics and establishes a good working relationship with the union.
I. Assures continuous communications and employee participation throughout the organization.
J. Fosters teamwork between departments and within the department.
K. .Address unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and hazards in respective work area(s), and evaluates the ensuing corrections(s).
L. Complete assigned action items on EHS action plan; Participate in EHS risk/ergo analysis for departments; Report to maintenance any energy spills; Achieve near misses/gemba goal and close them on time.
M. Support and/or participate on Continuous Improvement Activities such as: Kaizen, Ideas Programs, cost out and/or demonstrate improvements in goals year over year in our processes or practices aligned to achieve or business goals and/objectives.
Qualifications• Industrial Engineering Degree or similar
• + 5 experience years on Manufacturing / Operations activities
• Excellent communication and human relations skills and the ability to lead and motivate subordinates.
• Administrative skills to include planning, coordinating, team building, communication, organization and time management.
• Requires knowledge in Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling Engineering, Plant and Facility Engineering, production planning and inventory control, employee relations, manufacturing processes and quality methods. It also requires technical knowledge of the product and its applications.
• Demonstrates the ability to apply the hierarchies of EHS risk controls in cooperation with internal stakeholders within the site.
• One must also be a good communicator and motivator. Must set a good, positive example
