Job Description

Eaton has an opening for a 3rd Shift Process Technician in Van Wert, OH.  This position will  support, improve, and facilitate continuous improvement within the Value Stream  with technical knowledge, by working with the Front Line Supervisor, operators, maintenance, and the other process and quality engineers and technicians in trouble shooting problems with programs, tooling, and mechanical issues on the equipment to build a foundation supporting quality, cost, safety. As required, will assist in the development and implementation of new equipment or work centers in the department.
Essential Functions:
  • Must be able to learn, apply, and retain new techniques, concepts and procedures required for continuously improving products, processes, services, deliveries and overall quality.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints, control plans, routers, job instructions and measurement tools.
  • Must meet or exceed all quality standards set by the customers and individual Value Stream.
  • Maintain flexibility to be able to move from work area to work area in order to meet the delivery expectations of the customers and the productivity goals for the plant.  Able to work efficiently to establish standards without constant supervision
  • Promotes cooperation and "team oriented" work environment at all times under the direction of the leadership.
  • Creates/maintains a safe work environment and practices safety for themselves and others at all times
  • Must maintain a clean and well-organized work environment and support our 5S program
  • Work with appropriate leader to identify, implement and prioritize department equipment needs such as implementing new guarding and ordering replacement / improved tooling
  • Responsible for communicating with multiple functions (FLSs, maintenance, schedulers, operations managers, etc.) on equipment / process needs along with light equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Responsible for maintaining JSAs, Control Plans and Training Passports and ensures proper additional documentation is in place for production as necessary
  • Identify equipment and/or process gaps, investigate root cause and implement temporary containment and permanent solution
  • Work closely with operators to identify root causes of production downtime and issues that lead to quality non-conformance
  • Provide resource to operators related to acceptable quality
  • Participate in monthly QOS review process


Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Degree or GED and has completed a Federal or State Certified Multi-craft
  • Minimum of two to three years’ experience in a manufacturing/operations environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
  • No relocation provided – candidate must live within a commutable distance (50 miles)of the Van Wert, OH facility to be considered.
