Eaton located in Williamsburg, VA has an opening for a Quality Technician to work on 1st Shift.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for leading the implementation of the Williamsburg RWD plant's quality control program under the guidance of Leadership. Ensures that policies and procedures regarding all aspects of quality assurance and improvement are rigidly adhered to during all manufacturing processes. Implement plans at the direction of Leadership to achieve operational quality goals. Ensure compliance to customer quality requirements and work with Engineering and the customer on quality issues reported in the field. Work on inspection, corrective action, returned materials, CQM, internal audit activity, and other documentation issues as needed for the operations. Continual focus on initiatives pertaining to Assembly Standard Work, CONC reduction, and change control.
 
Essential Responsibilities
  • Ensure that processes need for the quality management system are established, implemented, and maintained.
  • Execute the quality strategy and assist in driving continuous improvements in quality culture.
  • Ensure the site complies with quality procedures and requirements established by the operating division (RWDD), Electrical Sector and Eaton Corporation.
  • Monitor overall plant quality progress and performance and make corrections as needed.
  • Drive timely resolution of quality issues in the plant by helping to manage and facilitate their closure.
  • Lead and/or participate in performing 8D investigations when necessary or requested.
  • Drive error proofing solutions and implementation where appropriate.
  • Actively involved in the implementation efforts of ISO 9001.
  • Support the deployment and implementation of specific initiatives aimed at improving Quality and Operational Excellence; promote continuous improvement activities.
  • Implement and perform QA duties and take the necessary actions with the appropriate resources to resolve Quality issues.
  • Engage in activities related to Quality as needed, including 8D’s, Kaizen events, BPI’s, and other problem solving activities.
  • Rapid response to address open quality issues and working closely with Operations and Engineering to drive permanent solutions.
  • Involved in Field Campaign discussions and develop containment actions to replace suspect materials shipped over a period of time which minimizes impact to customer operations.
  • Understand EQS, ELSS, & EBE as components of the EBS, including the assessment process and criteria.
  • Lead the warranty review process and identify opportunities for reducing CONC

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
  • No relocation is provided for this position. only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Williamsburg, VA facility will be considered.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Quality and/or Manufacturing.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Training, experience, and/or certification in problem solving tools and techniques (8D, corrective and preventive action, 5-why analysis, fishbone/ Ishikawa diagrams, error-proofing/ poka-yokes).
  • Quality Management System knowledge and experience
  • Possesses solid communication skills (both written and verbal)
