Job Description

Eaton’s Power Systems Experience Center is looking to hire an Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2018.
 
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Design and build new demonstrations for the PSEC
  • Support technical tours, including the demonstration of energized equipment, tailored for a range of customers and internal training events
  • Maintain documentation of demonstration procedures for operation manual
  • Create and implement safety procedures, as necessary, for energized equipment
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain existing PSEC equipment and systems
  • Support PSEC manager and senior PSEC engineer on major projects.
  • Manage projects including time and cost according to allocated PSEC Budgets (capital and expense)
  • Influence through presentations, customers, and all visitors that attend PSEC training sessions

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship on an on-going basis.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the Warrendale, PA facility will be considered
  • Strong understanding of electrical power systems
. Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree or working toward a graduate degree in Power Systems
  • Previous experience with hands-on building of electrical equipment
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Lab/hardware experience
  • Strong aptitude of working with tools and electrical test equipment
  • Strong understanding of electrical power systems

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to be flexible to adjust to changing priorities in a fast paced work environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including well versed in MS Office and engineering software
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment and implement repairs
  • Role might require standing for a prolonged period of time
