Job Description

Eaton’s Vehicle Division is seeking a Program Manager for our Engine Air Management Team. The Program Manager will be based in Marshall, MI or Galesburg, MI.
Positon Overview:
The Program Manager will be responsible for successful execution of New Product Development (NPD) projects in the Advanced Valve train and Boosting product lines. Duties focus on leading the Integrated Program Team(s) to drive customer satisfaction, continuous improvement and life of the program financial performance by managing customer programs, contracts, and business relationships.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Manages the Lifecycle Financials of the NPD Program(s) and projects. Responsibility, Authority and Accountability (RAA) for every project scope delivery and successful execution within technical, schedule, cost and quality commitments.
  • Execute IPT leadership across the assigned projects. Seeks team input to promote rapid resolution to issues. Provides feedback on performance indicators.
  • Establishes objectives and goals and provides direction to the program and project teams in areas of customer concerns, potential changes in scope and risk assessment.
  • Manages effective customer communications. Ensures clear organizational understanding of customer requirements. Communicates and manages customer expectations and contractual commitments internal to the business.
  • Ensure standard program management processes are utilized and adequate support to the program and project teams by coordinating PM reviews, preparing & publishing PM metrics and reports.
  • Maintains and publishes all metrics for program/projects for earned value (CPI/SPI), quality, technical performance and delivery through all of the PROLaunch phases.
  • Coordinates all aspects of the program/project. This is accomplished by planning, controlling, integrating all project activities and deliverables and measuring all elements to ensure the requirements and gals are successfully achieved. Responsible for coordinating all risk management and mitigation plans. Ensures effective change management processes are utilized.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Product Strategy Managers to manage customer contract, pricing, terms and conditions and contractual flow-down through the organization. Work with these process owners to establish and negotiate pricing strategies by system and/or product, market and by customer. Work with the sales team to develop contract negotiation strategies.
  • Provides periodic program updates (Program Status Report – Green/Yellow/Red) of current situation relating to contractual milestones and problem/high risk areas (e.g., technical, cost, and schedule). Provides regular updates to the product group as well as regional and vehicle group stakeholders.
  • Plays a key role in developing business proposals and executing the overall program/project plan.
  • Provides overall program/project interface with the customer.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Program Management, Project Management,  Engineering, or Product Development  experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Program Management Institute (PMI) accreditation (e.g. SAPM or PMP) .
  • Large scale cross functional project/program team experience.
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or MBA.
  • Automotive industry experience.
  • Cross functional experience (ex: sales, supply chain, operations, or engineering). 
Position Criteria:
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
