Job Description

Eaton’s Vehicle Division is seeking a New Products Supervisor. The New Products Supervisor will be based in Kearney, NE.
Positon Overview:
The New Products Supervisor will be responsible for management of Program Launches, and smooth introduction of new products from conception to high volume production, in the Kearney Plant.  This is accomplished by identifying and confirming customer’s needs, communicating with Product Engineers and Sales and working directly with the New Products Team.  Partner with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to develop new processes, capital equipment planning, and Advanced Quality Planning techniques to prepare the new products for launch.  Ensure timely and accurate communication to key stakeholders in the Kearney plant.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • List the essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results) which must be accomplished in order to fulfill the purpose of your position as described above.
  • Manage New Program Launches utilizing PROLaunch and other tools.
  • Supervise the New Programs Department. 
  • Lead and participate in the quoting process, including communication with the Regional Team and Sales to ensure successful quoting and new product development.   
  • Communicate with Sales and Marketing to stay abreast of new customer engine programs which might have a future impact on the Kearney product or processes.  
  • Evaluate the potential impact and interactions of new engine programs, with respect to the overall manufacturing processes, strategy and future capacity of the Kearney plant.  
  • Manage communications with the regional Engineering and Sales teams about the timing of critical milestones to assure planning and actions are timely and appropriately integrated in PROLaunch.  
  • Manage and track the progress of new programs to assure they remain on schedule according to the overall PROLaunch activity matrix, scorecards and customer requests.  
  • Participate on the Material Review Board, Process Change Request, and Manufacturing Feasibility Review processes.  
  • Is a customer representative, working directly with our customers related to changes and new programs.  
  • Lead sample production, including coordination with Scheduling, Production, and Quality.
  • Actively participates in Focus Factory team, leading & supporting activities related to the team’s goals of Safety, Quality, and Productivity.  
  • Perform other incidental duties as required and assigned.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with program or project management/engineering.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience launching or leading projects and programs.  
  • PMP Certified.
  • Knowledge of quoting and the processes associated with it.
  • Knowledge of TS16949.
  • Technical knowledge of product design function, manufacturing processes, statistical methods.
  • Knowledge of 8-D or similar problem solving techniques.
  • Administrative knowledge regarding capital equipment analysis, cost accounting, project cost. analysis, and organization techniques.
  • Administrative skills to include planning, team building, organization and time management.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and quality methods.
