Eaton’s Electrical Product  Group is seeking a Lead Financial Analyst  for its Crouse Hind  Division.  The Lead Financial Analyst position will be located at its Syracuse, NY facility. 
Position Overview :
This position requires gathering of data, preparation and analysis of reports, and financial result recommendations to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning. Its primary purpose is to manage the annual budget process, analyze monthly and quarterly financial data for accuracy, completeness, and reliability, support the completion and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly and long range financial reporting to Eaton HQ, provide presentations to Senior Management on financial performance, and measure the Crouse-Hinds business units on financial results against targets.   The incumbent must possess the ability to both provide and present meaningful reports and metrics to senior Mgt.
  • Prepare, review and analyze financial forecasts and operating budgets.
  • Recommend new financial metrics to be applied across the division to better measure the performance of the Business units.  Constructively challenge the Business Unit controllers on their monthly forecasts.
  • Represent the FP&A department at various inter-departmental meetings to provide overall financial insight.
  • Work on acquisition teams, as required, providing financial analysis support.
  • Perform detailed SG&A expenditure analysis to identify trends and areas in need of cost control focus. Provide value add variance analysis to highlight issues or opportunities and promote understanding of necessary changes.
  • Provide coaching and counseling to the Crouse-Hinds organization on budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, allowing the organization to better utilize data so as to make more informed business decisions.
  • Recommend and implement enhanced methodologies and procedures to improve financial reporting and management processes.
  • Assist in directing Crouse-Hinds worldwide financial credit and collection activities to ensure that credit exposure is at a minimum, liquidity is maximized through rigorous process improvement and forecast accuracy.
  • Assist in directing day-to-day operation of Accounts Receivable function in accordance with Company policies and procedure to ensure properly maintained customer accounts and the timely and accurate flow of financial data to and management. 
  • Responsible for Accounts Receivable month end close process, inclusive of analysis of account balances, interaction with credit leads and controllers on actual versus expected performance, and communication of results to management. 
  • Responsible for monthly forecast and annual Profit Plan with regard to Accounts Receivable.
  • Interfaces with international credit managers to reduce credit exposure, resolve credit and collection issues and monitor compliance with division credit policies and accepted industry practices.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounting/Finance
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates within a 50 mile radius of the work location will be considered
Preferred Qualifications :
  • Experience of working in a shared services environment with reporting responsibility for remote sites
  • MBA degree from an accredited institution or CPA certification
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and/or Credit/Treasury
  • Solid understanding of cash flow statements, the P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Strong capability and knowledge of working with SAP, HFM, and Encore
  • Individual with energy, stamina and passion for driving efficiency and demonstrates a strong organizational skill set with a great work ethic
  • Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail with a pragmatic approach; ability to see the wider financial impact without getting stuck in detailed minutiae
  • Must be extremely proficient with spreadsheets (Excel) and possess a solid understanding of financial and cost accounting fundamentals
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills combined with an inquisitive and detailed approach to finance
  • Experience in presenting and discussing financial information
  • Comfortable with dynamic environment where priorities shift and flexible work schedule
