Job Description

Eaton’s Vehicle Division is seeking a Quality Manager.  The Quality Manger position will be based out of our Kings Mountain, NC facility. Relocation is provided for this role.

Position Overview :
  • This position is a member of the Kings Mountain Senior Leadership Team and provides overall leadership for Quality within the Kings Mountain facility.
  • Key responsibilities include driving the Strategic Quality Plan at the operational level, defining and implementing strategic initiatives to ensure our continued success in the deployment of the Eaton Business System by utilizing the Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS), ProLaunch, IATF, and EQS (Eaton Quality Systems). 
  • Development of short and long range strategic business plans for the Kings Mountain Quality function to align resources to meet future customer needs and drive superior operating results.
Essential Responsibilities :
  • Serve as an active member of the Kings Mountain Senior Leadership team, fulfilling leadership duties and providing input for strategy, direction & continuous improvement.
  • Deploy quality plan at the operational level in conjunction with the Division Quality group to provide overall quality leadership to the site.           
  • Transform the organization from one focused on conventional detection and containment to one focused on best-in-class prevention.
  • Provide support in Total Quality Leadership to customers, suppliers, business partners, and the other support service functions such as, Materials, Mfg., Engineering, Information Technologies, and other Division resources.
  • Manage the Quality strategy to facilitate continuous production of products consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements.
  • Implement systems and processes that deliver improvement toward 100% conformance to customer requirements.
  • Drive rigorous metrics related to the BSC to evaluate performance and drive reduction in variability/defects in critical business processes.
  • Develop systems for managing supplier performance. Provide Quality interface, expertise and support to the organization’s suppliers and partners.
  • Build relationships with other Division and Corporate resources in order to support identification, review, prioritization and execution of key improvements opportunities/projects to drive results
  • Support EBS integration through detailed understanding and effective deployment of processes and tools – including obtaining training & certifications and acting as process champion as required (e.g. EBE, OpA, MESH,  Lean Six Sigma)
  • Manage the Quality strategy to facilitate continuous production of products consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements.
  • Conduct performance reviews to improve organizational performance    


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a quality role in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in managing/leading people
  • Legally authorized to work in the US on an on-going basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications :
  • EBE Examiner or organization leader
  • 6 Sigma qualification

Key Competencies:

  • Broad technical knowledge in the areas of manufacturing, processes, quality assurance, plant engineering, production/materials planning and systems application.
  • Broad financial knowledge for asset management, budgeting and profit plan obtainment.
  • Knowledge of behavioral science, including the ability to motivate, counsel, and constructively deal with people at all levels.
  • Knowledge of lean concepts and process.
  • Strong leadership skills must be capable of leading their organization on a continuous journey of sustained improvement.
