Job Description

Primary Function:

 

This position shall essentially oversee the logistics, customs and shipping activities to ensure on time deliveries of finished goods to customers. This position will manage also the inventory and shall maintain communications with government bodies (customs, PEZA), carriers, suppliers, warehouses, custom brokers and other involved personnel in the shipping. The position will also lead in the establishment of standard and efficient processes in the areas of responsibility.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees logistics entire and shipping area operations liaising with internal stakeholders, government bodies (customs and Philippine Economic Zone Authority), suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers.
  • Creates and implements best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the organization.
  • Delivers solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements.
  • Negotiates rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers.
  • Recommends optimal transport modes, routes or frequency.
  • Selects carriers/suppliers and monitor service against performance criteria.
  • Ensures carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.
  • Resolves problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues.
  • Reviews and reports impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or carriers.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives and identifies inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Ensures the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements with the help of direct reports.
  • Identifies and resolves any inventory discrepancies and ensures inventory and system records are in agreement.
  • Tracks slow moving and obsolete stocks in the inventory and analyze the issues
  • Identifies savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process.
  • Interprets, analyzes and reviews data. Provides meaningful logistics data to others in the organization to aid customer service and cost improvements.
  • Ensures that the IT systems in place are effective, maintained and accurate.
  • Ensures metrics, reports and process documentation is available.
  • Ensures compliance with import/export regulations/customs regulations requirements.
  • Oversees and develops a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
  • Ensures that all functions under supervision operate in accordance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff.
  • Support in all regional Logistics Reporting and Analysis.
  • Functionally support to the team (Best Practices, Knowledge Sharing, Tactical Support).
  • Maintaining a harmonious and productive environment whilst driving through necessary changes.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • At least with Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years’ experience, with at 5 years in supervisor capacity; managerial level experience, an advantage
     
    Basic Knowledge (Foundation):
  • Experience in SCM data analysis / reporting (Inventory, Sales, Receipts, Invoicing, Logistics, Fuel Surcharge, Supplier performance, compliance etc.)
  • Knowledge in Customs and Logistics Compliance
     
    Medium Knowledge (Intermediate):
  • Able to link the reports  to the relevant business process
  • Working knowledge of database usage
     
    Advance Knowledge (Expert):
  • Advance Data Management using Excel (Formulas, Filtering, Charts, Pivot, Vlookup, Data Validation, Conditional Formatting, Macro recording, Text/Logical / nested Functions etc.)
  • Able to gather data from multiple systems and assimilate bigger data set
  • Able to Manage Large data sets
  • Automation of Reports
  • Reporting & Analysis (MIS / Sales/ SCM/Financial)
  • Expert in Developing New Reports,  Dashboards & Databases
  • Understand linkages of data across different data set/reports
  • Break down of Data sets into meaningful interpretations
  • Using features in access
  • Using Advanced features in Excel
  • Knowledge of various systems hosting different kind of data
  • Use of SharePoint for Data Management
  • Advance Presentation skill (Power Point)
  • Must knowledge about SCM Processes
  • Spend analysis
  • Knowledge on cost savings program
