Eaton’s $2B Hydraulics business serves global and diverse markets and customers with four major product lines: Power & Motion Controls, Fluid Conveyance, Golf Grip, and Filtration. 75% of the hydraulics business is focused on mobile segments (joystick controls, gear pumps, manifolds) and 25% on stationary segments (coolers, cylinders, piston & vane pumps). Headquartered in Eden Prairie, MN, we are constantly advancing hydraulics products in new and innovative ways.
Eaton’s Hydraulics Division is seeking a Global Product Manager in our Eden Prairie, MN or Brooklyn, OH facilities to lead the Airflex Industrial Clutch and Brake and Hydre-MAC product line. Key responsibilities include product management, product marketing, rationalization, promotion, and product strategy for the outlined product lines on a global basis. In this role, you will work closely with functional leaders to develop and implement growth strategies to drive product profitability, volume, mix, market share improvement, and price globally.  You will lead the global Product Growth Team (PGT) which is a cross-functional internal team whose primary mission is to define and execute Strategic Product Line priorities for Engineering, Operations and Marketing. This role has primary responsibilities for product promotion, product awareness, communication of product capabilities, product management, information availability and reliability, development, and pricing strategy for OEM customers and distribution.   
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Lead the $40 million Airflex product portfolio and work in close conjunction with the Product Growth Team (PGT) to execute growth strategies.
  • Develop a comprehensive technical understanding of the products and how they can be applied, translate this knowledge into marketing and promotional materials. Lead the development and deployment of marketing programs to drive growth for the assigned product lines.
  • Work with customers to understand needs through “Voice of the Customer” interviews and collect and disseminate actionable customer insights in the form of New Product Development (NPD), commercial programs, and operational (footprint, cost, quoting, or other operational) improvements.  Lead research and analysis on assigned projects to translate business and market requirements into functional requirements. Acquire & retain comprehensive knowledge of competitive positioning and competitor strategies.
  • Working with product Portfolio Manager to develop the global product strategy including positioning; managing product, segment & channel mix; and developing targeted value propositions while monitoring and addressing product life cycles. Manage key customer notification for products under life cycle management process. Act as key commercial marketing resource for trade shows and distributor meetings including other related National/International forums.
  • Develop product pricing strategy and work in conjunction with pricing and sales teams to implement pricing objectives. Monitor product Profit & Loss (P&L) for assigned product line and recommend changes to meet Eaton top and bottom line objectives.
  • Proactively engage with the Eaton Sales Team, Distributors and customers to promote and support the sale of Airflex products.  Provide training and tools to empower regional teams to provide both commercial and technical support.
  • Lead the (PGT) to propose prioritization of Engineering development activities. Act as a key team member during the launch of new products within the portfolio, including managing and executing launch activities


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of product management, marketing, sales, operations or engineering experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA
  • Airflex product experience
  • Hydraulics industry experience
  • Experience working with distribution channels, OEM’s and product marketing
Position Criteria:
  • Willing to travel at least 10% of the time.
