The Technology Manager , Center for Intelligent Power is a member of the Eaton India Innovation Center.  This position is responsible for the startup of the IoT and data science team in Pune, India and will be functionally aligned to the Global Technology Director (GTD), Center for Intelligent Power based out of Ireland, Dublin.  This position will formulate compelling value propositions and understand how to drive solutions to commercialization.  This individual will be responsible for execution of descriptive, diagnostics, predictive and prescriptive analytics methodologies to support a range of product and services application for multiple businesses across the electrical and industrial sectors. In addition, this leader will build and mentor India team to develop, demystify and democratize data science and machine learning for IoT applications related to power management in the digital world along with GTD.
 
The leader will be responsible for managing a team of scientists & engineers specializing in data science  with the primary goal of identifying, developing, and justifying commercialization of significant growth opportunities for diverse Eaton businesses. The leader will be responsible for meeting the schedule, scope, cost and technical targets for all research and development efforts under his/her control, as well as developing and managing relationships with Eaton businesses leaders & stakeholders and maintaining a sound business case for the project portfolio.

  1. In collaboration with business and global CIP team develop and execute analytical platforms that can be easily consumed and deployed into applications for the industrial and electrical sector businesses.
  2. Lead and direct applications for data science technologies, including the identification emerging technology trends, future commercial solutions development working closely with the global teams.
  3. Drive a high performance workforce – attract, coach, mentor and facilitate growth of strong leaders within the organization & share ownership in developing future talent pipeline.
  4. Have the acumen and the passion to work with product engineering teams globally.
  5. Find and incorporate best practices in data science from outside Eaton Corporation.  Cultivate and manage relationships with institutions of advanced learning and maintain a linkage to external technical community and academia.
  6. Building core competencies  within organization for data science based intelligent products, systems and services. Advanced Analytics for connected devices using data science technologies

 


Qualifications

Basic
  1. At least 7 years of related engineering experience in in data science and controls systems and solutions design, applied research, new product development, program management and innovation processes.
  2. 5 years of experience leading people. 
  3. Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Statistics.
 
Preferred
  1. Experience in automotive, aerospace, O&G, grid infrastructure, mining, data centers segments.
  2. Direct experience leading industrial product engineering and technology teams.
  3. Proven track record of building organizational capability and talent through effective recruiting, training, coaching and development.
  4. Demonstrated excellence applications of machine learning with experience with both physics-based and numerical modeling and simulation techniques. 
  5. Proficiency in software-enabled and embedded controls development issues, especially in the context of model-based and hardware-in-loop control algorithm and software development processes.
  6. Proficiency in IoT architectures including cloud/edge computing, storage, processing and analytical techniques at each boundary and an understanding of scalability, cost and performance trade-offs for applied applications.
  7. Experience in building production grade machine learning and data fusion enabled solutions end to end is a plus. Hands on experience with common machine learning tools (Weka, R, RapidMiner and etc.) and experience with AWS Or Azure is a plus.
  8. Experience in leading projects with multiple stakeholders in matrix organization and strong project management experience is required.
