Responsible for developing engineering and software specifications for Lighting Control Products; coding firmware that enables the launch of new products including digital signal processing, control theory, proprietary or standards based communication protocols, FPGA’s and implementation of control devices on low cost silicon; actively coordinating embedded design with electrical power, and enterprise software architecture throughout the product development lifecycle; actively coordinating user experience vision and embedded design throughout the product development cycle; ensuring new products meet customer needs; understanding customer needs by working with product management; ensuring that product specifications are complete; validating design through design reviews, product testing, and detailed analysis; incorporating support for the manufacturing, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of the product/system; actively communicating with cross functional teams to ensure schedule, cost and performance alignment; supporting team of global field commissioning engineers with technical challenges; and searching for technologies.


Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field PLUS four (4) years of experience in the job offered, or in a related field. Four (4) years of experience must include all of the following: proficiency in Linux OS for embedded applications; knowledge of RF, digital and simple analog circuits; experience writing specifications or end-user documentation; and programming embedded systems in C.  Three (3) years of experience must include the following: using ZigBee; and experience developing applications on the SiLabs EM35x family of chips.
