Eaton’s Corporate Research and Technology (CRT) Department opened a position for a
Lead Engineer - Power Systems Technologies
Location: Eaton European Innovation Center in Prague-Roztoky
Job description:
  • You will be at the front of the energy transition effort in Eaton, by enabling smart grid technologies originated in Europe to be applied across all of Eaton.
  • This research will take early stage technologies and will develop new concepts for intelligent power systems, including DC microgrids for residential and commercial buildings and facilities, and electric vehicle charging integration in power grid.
  • Together with a team member of scientists & technologists, you will build new configurations including smart grids, microgrids, distributed generation, energy storage, renewable energy, and grid intelligence, as well as advanced power electronics systems (smart inverters, hybrid and solid state switching circuit protection, plug-in vehicle charging and others). 



  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field
  • 8+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience in industrial or academic R&D, early-stage technology and new product development;
  • Fluent in oral and written English.
Pleasant surprise:
  • Ph.D. degree;
  • Experience with power distribution, power electronics systems, integrated electrical solutions, power systems controls and automation, etc.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC Smart and micro grid architectures. 
  • Experience in developing partnerships with universities and research organizations.
  • Knowledge of Grid Management communication and protocols: profibus DB, modbus, Ethernet TCP/IP;
  • Experience with networking, MATLAB, Python, SQL;
  • Experience in writing government funded research proposals.
