Materials and Planning Manager
This position is responsible for the procurement of raw material, components and required capacity availability when required, analyzing and scheduling material requirements for assigned product lines and manages department production schedules. The incumbent interacts with Focus Factor Leaders, Purchasing Agents, Division and other plant location Master Schedulers, and other staff personnel to assure effective and timely materials planning, manpower utilization, machinery, and customer satisfaction levels by determining the planning strategy for the mid-term that balances them. Directs a staff of Buyer/ Planner and a materials clerk.
Excellent negotiation skills
Solid ability to build lasting relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Ability to analyze and organize facts to effectively give project status reports.
Trained in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, Six Sigma related to Supply Chain activities.
Working knowledge of MRP systems, AS400, just in time concepts and respective production processes, SAP experience preferred.
Full mastering of Manufacturing planning hierarchy framework
APICS CPIM certification is a plus
APICS CSCP certification is a plus
Excellent organizational skills for managing large volumes of components part numbers.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work effectively with diverse and cross-functional groups
Problem resolution, Work under pressure and sense of urgency
Excellent attention to administrative detail to include timely analysis, follow through, and final resolution
