Eaton's Aerospace business has an opening for:
HR Manager
location: Lakeside, UK
The Lakeside facility with 150 employees is a global supplier of high quality, conveyance components and systems for the aerospace and defense industry.
This position manages and administers plans and/or programs to ensure the most effective utilization of human resources to support site objectives. This must be accomplished within the framework of the organization's overall corporate and division policies, plans, and programs. It requires generalized knowledge and involvement in all specialized areas including, but not limited to, employee/labor relations, compensation, performance management, staffing, and safety. The emphasis is on adaptation and implementation of specific policies and initiatives.
HR Manager manages 1 person and reports to Plant Manager directly.
Essential Functions:
  • Manages the administration of human resource policies, programs, and practices throughout the site
  • Functions as a business partner with management to plan and implement programs to meet human resource requirements supporting short-term and long term business needs
  • Implements progressive HR solutions supporting site objectives
  • Implements corporate practices into local operations
  • Facilitates communication between various levels of the operation
  • Assures implementation and administration of compensation and benefit programs
  • Guides and/or conducts employee training and development programs, including leadership training
  • Assures an effective performance management process is utilized for all employees
  • Manages recruitment process for salaried employees
  • Implements effective safety, affirmative action, and other employee relations programs
  • Provides strategic solutions, advises and counsel to Site managers and supervisors
  • Develops succession planning in co-operation with site and/or functional leaders
  • Uses employee survey process to drive high levels of Employee Engagement
  • Counsels leaders on dealing with employee relations and employee performance issues
  • Be an advocate for employees in the organization ensuring fair and ethical treatment, helping to get issues raised and addressed responding to their need for information on policies, procedures, benefits, pay etc. and identifying developmental opportunities
  • Prepares necessary requests for data, on-time and support internal business system and related tools/assessment processes
  • Acts as a member of the site leadership team responsible for helping to guide the site and give direction for growth and operational excellence
  • Participates in collective bargaining negotiations and administers contract provisions for unionized employees
  • Support other Eaton/Aerospace sites as appropriate


  • BS or BA in Human Resource Management or equivalent
  • MBA preferred
  • CIPD preferred
  • Knowledge of contemporary legal trends
  • HR generalist experience
  • Proficient in computer software, Microsoft office, HRMS (Oracle preferred)
  • Working knowledge of related employment and labour laws
