Eaton located in Raleigh, NC has an opening for a Sr. Quality Engineer. 

 
Position Overview:

The Sr. Quality Engineer is responsible for global quality assurance on assigned DPQ products and processes for OEM product lines and for the Americas on assigned Eaton Brand product lines. Duties include managing Customer issues, New Product Development projects, Customer quality liaison, Failure Analysis & corrective actions, Warranty cost & DPPM reduction, Internal Supplier manufacturing yield Improvements and quality actions & support to global suppliers and distribution  channels, including internal & external warehouse operations.

 
Essential Functions:
  • Track and analyze warranty cost and DPPM trends on assigned DPQ products. Drive reduction of warranty cost and DPPM through leading structured projects utilizing Six Sigma tools.
  • Is the lead customer quality liaison with assigned OEM's (globally) and assigned Eaton Brand products (Americas) in quality

performance & issue reviews, satisfaction feedback, failure analysis, and quality reports, driving customer issues to root cause, corrective actions {8D's) and improving customer satisfaction.

  • Is the global Quality Engineer on assigned OEM NPD project teams, including engagement with internal and external suppliers.
  • Is the Americas Region Quality Engineer on assigned global Eaton Brand (EB) NPD project teams, including engagement with internal and external suppliers.
  • Coordinates quality assurance of assigned products in warehouses & distribution, including needed inspection, audit, quality alert, stop ship, rework, upgrade, conversion, battery recharge, RMA, and disposition of product.
  • Performs inbound and outbound freight audits as needed, including quality audits of products and processes in warehouse/receiving areas and maintain a non-conforming products {MRB) system.
  • Manages assigned internal suppliers through supplier quality management processes and initiatives, including periodic reviews with suppliers to drive continuous improvement, including production test yields. Work with internal suppliers on addressing product & customer issues to root cause and corrective action, utilizing 8D/Six Sigma tools.
  • Audit internal and external suppliers as needed.
  • Is a team member of the Customer Issues Team.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of experience applying quality tools in a customer, supplier or manufacturing environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • This position does not offer relocation. Only candidates within 60 miles of Raleigh, NC will be considered.
 
Position Criteria:
  • Strong communication  skills, including maintaining strong customer  and  supplier relationships
  • Strong skills in Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills with the ability to lead projects with cross functional project team members
  • Ability to demonstrate strong data analytics capabilities (Excel, SAP, COGNOS, Oracle or similar) with the ability to to setup and analyze multiple databases to obtain and identify actionable conclusions
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization, in virtual teams (across different locations), and cross-cultural environments
  • Ability to multitask, complete projects with tight deadlines
  • Ability to demonstrate working experience of problem solving methods-i.e. Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAP Experience
  • Six Sigma Belt (Green or Black) certified
  • ASQ  COE certification
  • Electrical Engineering degree and experience
  • Customer quality and supplier quality experience
