Senior Engineer (Stress Analysis)
 
location: South Molton, North Devon, UK
 
South Molton is one of our aerospace sites in the UK, where we employ 400 people. We have there a casting foundry that is the only one of its kind across Eaton’s Aerospace plants. 
 
The role is responsible for design, analysis and optimization of aircraft Fuel and hydraulic system product. Communication with non-specialists, participation within multifunction groups and Interface with other engineers for analytical problem solving. Finite element analysis and hand calculations equations for new product development, product improvements, value added value engineering activity and other technical issues as needed. Interface with customers will be required. Form part of the Engineering team within South Molton.

Essential Functions:
 
  • Mentors and coaches non-stress personnel
  • Maintains an awareness of pressure vessel regulation and oversight of test rigs on site
  • Participates as a team member on various analysis tasks across the Structural and Fatigue team and the wider Aerospace group
  • Provides regular analysis status updates and participate in team planning sessions
  • Provides analytical support to product teams as part of an integrated project team (IPT) as required
  • Follows Business Management System policies, procedures, and work instructions
  • Applies hand calculations equations and finite element analysis concepts through product development stages
  • Resolve technical issues based on engineering analysis
  • Prepare comprehensive engineering reports detailing technical issues and document analysis results in engineering reports
  • Works closely with global Aerospace engineering analysis team to increase functional knowledge
  • Interacts with both suppliers and customers as necessary
  • Maintains understanding of products, manufacturing processes, and product applications

Qualifications

Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited University, or equivalent
  • Engineering analysis experience specific to structural (FEA) analysis
  • Previous analytical engineering experience
  • Previous aerospace experience would be an asset
  • Good communication skills
  • Project management experience
