Job Description

Eaton’s Life Safety Division is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. The Manufacturing Engineer will be based at our Long Branch, NJ facility.
Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer will design, assemble and conduct tests to develop and sustain processes for our Life safety Products. Responsibilities include design, troubleshoot, improve, train and optimize supporting manufacturing processes for the purpose of ensuring we deliver to our customer high quality products. This position will work close with engineering and project management to transfer into production new products with qualified testing methodologies.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Eliminate process inefficiencies and waste by driving and using continuous improvement tool such as Lean, Six Sigma and others.
  • Supports and develops shop floor testing and manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Provides technical advice and direction in the design, fabrication and instrumentation of test fixtures and systems.
  • Utilizing SPC Provides insight and status of quality performance.
  • Utilizes VA/VE and manufacturing continuous improvement practices to drive cost out of our processes.
  • Trains operators on manufacturing and test processes.
  • Documents and controls test results, records and engineering reports.
  • Supports machine and process safeguarding.
  • Utilize effective data acquisition mythologies to safeguard the integrity of the data.
  • Supports manufacturing process for New Product Introduction.
  • Maintain calibration of test equipment, test record, etc.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution required. 
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • No relocation is provided. Candidates must currently reside within a 50 mile radius of the Long Branch, NJ facility to be considered.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience utilizing continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma, Lean practices, problem-solving, etc.).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with electrical testing.
