Job Description

  • Experience in the production of test and commissioning procedures and plans.
  • Preparation and restoration of components and/or systems before and after testing.
  • Testing of components (primary testing): power transformers, current transformers, voltage transformers, distribution bars and power cables.
  • Testing of protection relay, protection of distribution centers, verification of control wiring and the related circuits.
  • Functional testing of the power systems prior to energization.
  • Signals detection and functional testing with distributed control.
  • Execute project outcomes efficiently and effectively.
  • Managing the flow of information and documentation between the Design Engineers, Project Engineers, System Control Engineers and Commissioning Team Leader.
  • Commission new and existing Protection, Metering, DC or SCADA installations where required
  • Apply fault finding techniques as well as innovative ideas, logic and novel approaches to commission specific equipment to functional status.
  • Undertake Site Acceptance Testing test results to be in accordance with the Company standards, procedures, directives, work practice, guidelines and policies
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of FAT and SAT documentation.
  • Designs: To ensure that as commissioned, drawings are updated to site specifics
  • Lead and manage employees in coaching, mentorship and development.
  • Execute project outcomes efficiently and effectively.
  • To ensure that all relevant test documentation is completed at the end of the project and supplied to the Project Manager for each project.
  • To work safely and in full compliance at all times and on all occasions.
  • To ensure compliance with Quality Management System, Safety Procedures.

Qualifications

  • Language(s): English
  • B Tech Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering with a minimum 4 Years relevant industry experience.
  • Or National Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering with a minimum 8 years relevant industry experience.
  • Good knowledge of primary and secondary testing equipment.(CMC, PCM, ..)
  • CT and VT testing.
  • Protection relay knowledge. (Woodbeam, Micom, ABB,…)
  • Scheme testing.
  • ACO systems
  • Protection design capability
  • Must offer a flexible approach to work tasks, will be prepared to work additional hours as the project may require to ensure delivery of successful design solutions.
  • A full team player with ability to work within a multi-national, multi-cultural team.
  • To mentor other team members as required.
  • Valued team leader who is equally capable of lone working and working as a member of a team.
